Flight Attendant Job Description
Republic Airways seeks a Flight Attendant to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers in accordance with FAA and Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties
- Perform regulatory and assigned cabin duties with constant attention to guests, providing a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and the use of all emergency equipment; operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring up to 70 pounds of force.
- Provide food and beverages to passengers, requiring pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers in stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Contribute to a reliable and on-time operation by working with other crewmembers to meet report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assist other Customer Service staff with passenger handling or other duties as needed.
- Maintain reliable and prompt attendance according to Company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image, including adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
- Comply with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintain currency of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Foster the Company’s core values and culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Other Requirements
- Polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the face, neck, and hands. Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible while in uniform.
- Wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate necessary equipment.
- Ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification. (Lap belt measurement is 50 inches; shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches).
- No multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Ability to speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergencies.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability
- Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively handle stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capability to interpret multiple instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to remain calm, think, and react quickly in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Ability to make day-to-day decisions supporting the operation, often requiring some thought and structured approaches.
- Ability to process information quickly and react positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Capability to control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high stress.
Physical Demands
- Physical strength to reach and operate emergency equipment and exits using force up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to lift objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, potentially with aircraft turbulence.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over aircraft systems amidst ambient noise.
- Ability to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification.
- Ability to move freely, effectively, and quickly within the aircraft in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Ability to accommodate customers' special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended periods and maintain a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
