Flight Attendant

This pivotal role is essential for upholding the highest standards of safety and comfort for passengers on every flight, in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and company Inflight guidelines. Position Purpose
The Flight Attendant plays a critical role in ensuring an unparalleled passenger experience, prioritizing safety and comfort while adhering to all regulatory and internal operational protocols. This position demands a keen focus on emergency preparedness, impeccable customer service, and unwavering professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Passenger Safety & Emergency Management: Executing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining constant vigilance for passenger well-being and a secure onboard environment. Demonstrating expert knowledge of all emergency procedures and proficient use of emergency equipment, including the ability to operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment with necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds. Responding swiftly and effectively to all types of emergency situations, such as medical incidents, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Exceptional Customer Service: Delivering outstanding inflight service, including the provision of food and beverages, which involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds. Assisting passengers with the stowing of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds. Maintaining a consistently neat and orderly cabin environment throughout the flight. Performing inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned. Collaborating with other Customer Service staff to assist with passenger handling and other duties as needed.
- Operational Excellence & Teamwork: Contributing to a reliable and on-time operation by collaborating effectively with fellow crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Professional Conduct & Compliance: Presenting a consistently professional image in both conduct and appearance, strictly adhering to the Company uniform dress code. Complying with all Associate Rules of Conduct outlined in applicable manuals. Maintaining current knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals. Fostering the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the initial interview.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.

- Interpersonal & Communication: Possess polished interpersonal skills, a consistently positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations. Capable of effectively presenting information to and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public. Proficient in spoken and understood English, including the ability to deliver shouted verbal commands clearly during emergency situations.
- Reasoning & Decision-Making: A willingness to thrive in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions, whether written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based. Ability to remain calm, think critically, and react swiftly in high-stress and emergency scenarios. Demonstrated capability to process information rapidly and respond positively during unexpected or serious situations. Ability to control personal and emotional responses, acting appropriately under high levels of stress. Makes day-to-day operational decisions that are often structured but may require critical thought.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages, and to serve and handle meals containing peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork. Ability to work in environments with animals and various allergens/products. Strict adherence to Republic's Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding appearance: Tattoos are not permitted on the face (including front of face, underside of chin, cheeks, ears forward), neck (area covered by uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, fingers, up through wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible while in uniform. Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to safely reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment. For safety, must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or modifications (lap belt: 50 inches, shoulder harness: 40 inches). Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
Physical Demands
The role requires the ability to meet significant physical demands, including:
- Physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capability to lift objects above shoulders, up to and including 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, even during aircraft turbulence.
- Proficiency in stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Clear vision (20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts).
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Ability to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment & Travel
- Willingness and ability to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere, interacting professionally with passengers and crew, often under stressful conditions.
- Capability to accommodate customers’ special needs and disabilities.
- Availability to work extended periods, including varied schedules that encompass early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
- Extensive Travel: Requires up to 100% travel, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
