Position Summary
The Flight Attendant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers, upholding the highest standards of in-flight service and operational excellence in accordance with FAA regulations and company guidelines. This position is central to delivering an exceptional onboard experience while prioritizing passenger well-being and contributing to a positive airline reputation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The successful Flight Attendant will proficiently execute a comprehensive range of duties, ensuring a safe, pleasant, and efficient flight experience for all passengers. Key responsibilities for this vital cabin crew role include:
- Performing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with unwavering attention to guest comfort and safety, contributing to an optimal passenger experience.
- Maintaining expert knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper use of emergency equipment onboard the aircraft, including the ability to operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment with the necessary movements and force (up to 70 pounds).
- Providing exemplary food and beverage service to passengers, which involves safely pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assisting passengers with the safe stowing of carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds, ensuring cabin safety and organization.
- Maintaining a consistently neat, clean, and orderly cabin environment throughout all phases of flight.
- Actively contributing to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Executing inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned, contributing to ancillary revenue and passenger engagement.
- Supporting other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling and various operational duties.
- Maintaining reliable and prompt attendance, adhering strictly to Company policies and procedures.
- Presenting a highly professional image, both in conduct and appearance, including strict adherence to the Company uniform dress code.
- Complying with all Associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Ensuring currency of all Inflight guides and operational manuals relevant to the role.
- Actively fostering the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performing additional duties as assigned or required to support operational needs and maintain service excellence.
Qualifications
Candidates for the Flight Attendant position must demonstrate a blend of essential skills, experience, and personal attributes critical for success in this dynamic aviation role.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Applicants must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Preferred: Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment.
- Preferred: Prior Flight Attendant or cabin crew experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
- Possess polished interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset crucial for passenger interaction.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations (e.g., FAA).
- Capable of effectively presenting information to and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluent and articulate in English, including the ability to deliver shouted verbal commands clearly and effectively during emergency situations.
- Reasoning & Decision-Making:
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of complex instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Must be able to remain calm, think critically, and react swiftly and appropriately in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Ability to make day-to-day operational decisions, often requiring thoughtful consideration and adherence to structured guidelines.
- Proficient in processing information quickly and reacting positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Capable of maintaining emotional composure and acting professionally under high levels of stress.
- Other Essential Requirements:
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability and willingness to serve and handle diverse food items, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Comfortable working with animals and around various allergens and products encountered in a cabin environment.
- Strict adherence to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) regarding tattoos: Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (front of face from ears forward, underside of chin and cheeks), neck (area consistently covered by a uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to safely reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without the need for an extender or other modification that could compromise harness integrity. (Reference: Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened; shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
- Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
Physical Demands
The Flight Attendant role requires significant physical capabilities to successfully perform essential functions safely and effectively. Candidates must be able to:
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, even amidst aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel as required within the aircraft cabin.
- Possess clear vision (20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts).
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems, accounting for ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Able to move freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined aircraft environment to perform all required functions.
- Capable of working extended duty periods on sequential days.

Travel Requirements
Extensive travel is inherent to this role, up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Candidates must be willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
