Flight Attendant
Overview
As a Flight Attendant, this pivotal role is centered on ensuring the paramount safety and exceptional comfort of all passengers. The incumbent will diligently uphold Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and internal Inflight guidelines, contributing to a secure and enjoyable air travel experience.
Key Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant is expected to proficiently execute a comprehensive range of duties, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient flight operation. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prioritizing passenger safety by diligently performing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining constant vigilance over guest well-being.
- Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proficient use of all on-board emergency equipment. This includes operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Delivering exemplary in-flight customer service, which involves serving food and beverages and adeptly managing moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assisting passengers with the safe and efficient stowing of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintaining a consistently neat, clean, and orderly cabin environment throughout all phases of flight.
- Contributing to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to meet all report times, departure schedules, and minimum turn times.
- Performing assigned in-flight sales and promotional duties with a customer-focused approach.
- Providing support to other Customer Service staff as needed, assisting with passenger handling and other ancillary duties.
- Upholding the highest standards of professionalism through reliable and prompt attendance, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Presenting a professional image, both in conduct and appearance, strictly adhering to the Company uniform dress code.
- Complying rigorously with associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in all applicable manuals and guidelines.
- Maintaining current knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
- Actively fostering the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment, promoting a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
- Performing additional duties as assigned or required to support overall operational objectives.

Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to excel in this demanding role.
Education & Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of two years of direct customer service experience is essential.
- Applicants must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Possesses polished interpersonal skills, a consistently positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness and ability to serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Comfort and willingness to serve and handle various food items, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment with animals and various allergens and products.
- Adherence to the Company's Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code), specifically prohibiting visible tattoos on the face (front, ears forward, underside of chin/cheeks), neck (area covered by uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, fingers, up through wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible while in uniform.
- A minimum wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater is required to safely reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- For safety reasons, candidates must be able to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without the need for an extender or any modification that could compromise harness integrity. (Reference: lap belt 50 inches, shoulder harness 40 inches when fastened).
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Exceptional proficiency in the English language, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental aviation regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Clear and articulate verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to deliver shouted commands effectively during emergency situations.
Reasoning & Problem-Solving Ability
- Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a time-sensitive, dynamic environment, effectively managing stress associated with meeting deadlines and navigating unexpected changes.
- Aptitude for interpreting diverse and multiple instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Critical ability to remain calm, think swiftly, and react decisively during all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Exercises sound judgment in making day-to-day operational decisions that support the flight operation, often requiring thoughtful consideration and adherence to structured protocols.
- Ability to process information rapidly and react positively and appropriately during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Possesses strong emotional intelligence, capable of controlling personal and emotional responses to act professionally and effectively under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders, weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, even during aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel as required for cabin duties.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses/contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and via airplane communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
