Position Overview
Republic Airways invites dedicated individuals to embark on an exciting aviation career as a Flight Attendant, joining its distinguished cabin crew. As a Republic Airways Flight Attendant, individuals are pivotal in delivering an exceptional onboard experience while prioritizing the well-being of all guests.
Key Responsibilities
To excel in this role, a Flight Attendant is expected to proficiently perform the following essential duties, contributing to a safe, comfortable, and efficient flight operation:
- Safety and Emergency Management: Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining constant vigilance for guest safety. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and proficiently operates emergency equipment, including exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds. Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and react swiftly and effectively during various emergency scenarios, such as medical incidents, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Exceptional Passenger Service: Delivers personalized food and beverage service, which includes maneuvering service carts weighing over 250 pounds. Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage up to 35 pounds. Ensures a consistently neat and orderly cabin environment. Engages in inflight sales and promotional activities as directed. Provides support to other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and related duties as required.
- Operational Excellence: Contributes to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with fellow crew members to meet all report times, departure schedules, and minimum turn times. Maintains prompt and consistent attendance in adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Professional Conduct: Presents a professional image at all times, both in conduct and appearance, strictly complying with the Company uniform dress code. Adheres to all associate Rules of Conduct outlined in applicable manuals. Fosters the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Continuous Learning: Maintains current knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals. Performs additional duties as assigned or required to support operational needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates for the Flight Attendant position must demonstrate a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this dynamic aviation role.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by a minimum of two years of direct customer service experience.
- Applicants must be at least 20 years of age by the date of their initial interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of progressive customer service experience, ideally within the aviation industry.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant.
Other Requirements
- Interpersonal & Service Acumen: Possesses polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a genuinely customer-oriented mindset. Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages and handle various food products, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork. Ability to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Appearance & Conduct Standards: Adherence to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is strictly enforced. Tattoos are not permitted on the face (including the front of one’s face from their ears forward, including the underside of one’s chin and cheeks), neck (area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of one’s hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform. Multiple visible piercings while in uniform are not permitted.
- Physical & Operational Readiness: Candidates must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds. The ability to lift objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds and to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds is required. Flight Attendants must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence, and perform actions such as stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling. Clear vision at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts is essential, along with the ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise. For safety reasons, candidates must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft. Furthermore, the ability to sit comfortably in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness securely fastened without an extender or other modification that may harm the integrity of the harness is mandatory (Reference: The lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened). The role requires the ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment and to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

- Possesses exceptional language skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effectively presents information to and responds to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Must be fluent and clearly understood in English, capable of articulating verbal commands, including shouted instructions, during emergency situations.

- Demonstrates strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities, willing to thrive in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of intricate and multiple instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
