Flight Attendant
Overview
Republic Airways is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals for the vital role of Flight Attendant. This position is central to ensuring the safety, comfort, and exceptional in-flight experience of passengers, meticulously adhering to all FAA regulations and company guidelines. Flight Attendants play a critical role in upholding Republic Airways' commitment to operational excellence and unparalleled customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant performs a comprehensive range of duties to ensure outstanding passenger service and uncompromising safety standards:
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with unwavering attention to guest safety and comfort throughout the flight.
- Maintains expert knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proficient use of all on-board emergency equipment. This includes operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Delivers premium food and beverage service to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
- Upholds a pristine and organized cabin environment throughout all flights.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members to ensure punctual operations, meeting all report, departure, and minimum turn-around times.
- Executes in-flight sales and promotional activities as assigned.
- Provides support to other Customer Service personnel as needed for passenger handling or other duties.
- Demonstrates reliable and prompt attendance, strictly adhering to Company policies and procedures.
- Embodies a professional image, both in conduct and appearance, consistently complying with the Company uniform dress code.
- Adheres to all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintains continuous currency with all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively fosters and embodies the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required to support overall operational excellence.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, coupled with a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of relevant customer service experience, particularly within an aviation environment, are highly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant is a distinct advantage.
Other Requirements
- Exhibits polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle diverse food items including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Strict adherence to Republic's Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding uniform and appearance standards. Tattoos are NOT permitted on the face (including the front of one’s face from their ears forward, the underside of one’s chin and cheeks), neck (the area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of one’s hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Possesses a minimum wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or other modification that may compromise the integrity of the harness. (For reference: lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened; shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
- No multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Able to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Able to speak and be clearly understood in English, including the ability to issue shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
- The role demands a willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with meeting deadlines and unforeseen changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of and multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to remain calm, think clearly, and react quickly and decisively in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Makes day-to-day decisions crucial for supporting the operation. Decisions often require thoughtful consideration and adherence to structured guidelines.
- Able to process information quickly and react in a positive manner during unexpected and/or serious situations.

Physical Demands

- Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit securely in an assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

Travel Requirements
This role requires extensive travel, up to 100% of the time, encompassing nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Candidates must be willing to relocate based on Republic Airways' operational requirements.
