Position Summary

Republic Airways is actively seeking dedicated and professional individuals to join its Inflight team as Flight Attendants. This crucial role ensures the highest standards of passenger safety and comfort, operating in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines. Flight Attendants are integral to delivering an exceptional travel experience while upholding the airline's commitment to operational excellence and distinguished customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Flight Attendant will execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, consistently prioritizing guest attention to deliver a safe, comfortable, and pleasant onboard experience.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper use of onboard emergency equipment, demonstrating the ability to operate all emergency exits and aircraft equipment with the necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
  • Provide professional food and beverage service to passengers, which includes maneuvering moveable service carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Assist passengers with the safe stowage of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ensure the cabin environment remains neat, orderly, and hygienic throughout all phases of flight.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times, thereby contributing significantly to reliable and on-time flight operations.
  • Perform assigned inflight sales and promotional duties with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Support other Customer Service staff as required, assisting with passenger handling and various related duties.
  • Maintain reliable and prompt attendance, adhering strictly to Company policies and procedures.
  • Project a consistently professional image through both conduct and appearance, meticulously complying with the Company uniform dress code.
  • Uphold the Associate Rules of Conduct as stipulated in all applicable company manuals.
  • Ensure ongoing currency with all Inflight guides and manuals, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and compliance.
  • Actively foster and embody the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned or required by Inflight leadership.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by at least two years of customer service experience.
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age by the date of the initial interview.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional years of proven customer service experience, ideally within an aviation or airline environment.
  • Previous experience as a Flight Attendant is highly advantageous.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possesses impeccable interpersonal skills, a consistently positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrates willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Must be capable and willing to serve and handle various food products, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments where animals, various allergens, and other products are present.

Appearance and Physical Standards

  • Adherence to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is mandatory. Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (from ears forward, including chin and cheeks), neck (area consistently covered by a uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, and fingers up through the wrist bone). All non-prohibited tattoos must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
  • Possesses a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to safely reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
  • For safety, must be able to sit comfortably in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness securely fastened, without requiring an extender or any modification that could compromise harness integrity. (Reference: Lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened; shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
  • Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.

Language Skills

  • Proficient ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental aviation regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information to, and responding to questions from, management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
  • Fluent in spoken English, with the ability to be clearly understood, including when delivering shouted verbal commands during critical emergency situations.

Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability

  • Demonstrates a willingness to thrive in a time-sensitive operational environment, effectively managing stress associated with meeting strict deadlines and adapting to unexpected changes.
  • Adept at interpreting a variety of intricate and multiple instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
  • Capable of maintaining composure, thinking clearly, and reacting swiftly and decisively in all types of emergency scenarios, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

Decision-Making

  • Exercises sound day-to-day judgment to support operational efficiency, often requiring thoughtful consideration in somewhat structured situations.
  • Possesses the ability to quickly process information and respond positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
  • Exhibits strong emotional regulation, maintaining appropriate conduct and composure under high levels of stress.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • The role necessitates robust physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring movements and force application up to 70 pounds.
  • Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulder height.
  • Ability to push and pull moveable service carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Stamina to walk and stand for extended periods, even during periods of aircraft turbulence.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel as required by duties.
  • Visual acuity enabling clear sight at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses/contacts.
  • Auditory ability to clearly discern verbal communications in person and via aircraft communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Required to sit in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness securely fastened, without any modifications.
  • Must be able to move freely, effectively, and quickly throughout the aircraft cabin in a confined environment to perform all required functions.
  • Ability to work extended duty periods on consecutive days.
