Flight Attendant
Job Summary
Republic Airways is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Flight Attendants. The Flight Attendant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers, upholding the highest standards in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Republic Airways Inflight guidelines. This position requires a commitment to operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and the ability to act swiftly and calmly in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
The essential duties of a Flight Attendant include, but are not limited to:
- Performing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining constant vigilance for guest safety and providing a comfortable onboard experience.
- Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proficient use of onboard emergency equipment, including operating emergency exits and aircraft equipment with movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Providing professional food and beverage service to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assisting passengers with the safe stowing of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintaining an immaculate and orderly cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to ensure punctual operations by meeting all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Executing inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned to enhance the passenger experience.
- Supporting other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and various operational duties as needed.
- Maintaining reliable and prompt attendance, adhering strictly to Company policies and procedures.
- Presenting a consistently professional image through conduct and appearance, in full compliance with the Company uniform dress code.
- Complying with all Associate Rules of Conduct as detailed in applicable manuals.
- Ensuring currency and thorough understanding of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively fostering the Company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performing additional duties as assigned or required by operational demands.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of two years of customer service experience is essential.
- Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the date of their first interview.
- Preferred: Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment.
- Preferred: Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.

- Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Capable of effectively presenting information to and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Proficient in speaking and understanding English, including the ability to deliver and comprehend shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Demonstrates strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities, willing to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment and manage stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of and multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Able to remain calm, think clearly, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Capable of making daily operational decisions, often requiring careful thought and adherence to structured guidelines.
- Able to process information rapidly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses and acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages, as well as meals containing peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work in an environment with animals and various allergens and products.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, utilizing necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes in conditions with aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel comfortably.
- Possesses clear vision (20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts).
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in the assigned Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender or other modification. (For reference: lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
- Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
Appearance and Other Requirements
- Pursuant to Republic Airways' Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code), tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (including the front of one's face from the ears forward, the underside of one's chin and cheeks), neck (the area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of one's hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
- Able and willing to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- The ability to accommodate customers' special needs and disabilities is essential.
- Willing and able to work for extended periods, as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements
This position requires extensive travel, up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Candidates must be willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
