About the Role

Republic Airways is seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join its esteemed team as a Flight Attendant. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers, strictly adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines. The Flight Attendant delivers exceptional service, contributes to operational excellence, and represents the airline's commitment to passenger satisfaction and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Executes all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, prioritizing guest safety and comfort throughout the flight experience.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proficient use of onboard emergency equipment. Operates all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring physical movements and force up to 70 pounds.
  • Delivers exceptional in-flight service, including the provision of food and beverages, which necessitates the ability to push and pull moveable carts exceeding 250 pounds.
  • Assists passengers with the safe stowage of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Maintains a consistently neat and orderly cabin environment.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members to ensure punctual operations, adhering to all report times, departure schedules, and minimum turn times.
  • Conducts in-flight sales and promotional activities as required.
  • Supports other Customer Service personnel with passenger handling and various operational duties as needed.
  • Upholds reliable and prompt attendance in strict accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Projects a professional image at all times, demonstrating exemplary conduct and adhering meticulously to the company's uniform dress code.
  • Complies rigorously with all Associate Rules of Conduct detailed in applicable manuals.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals.
  • Actively fosters the company's core values and positive culture within the work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, complemented by a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
  • Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the initial interview date.
  • Previous flight attendant experience or additional customer service experience, particularly within an aviation environment, is highly preferred.

Skills and Attributes

  • Interpersonal & Communication: Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills with a positive, customer-centric demeanor. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with management, crew, passengers, and the general public. Must be fluent in English, including the ability to deliver clear, shouted verbal commands in emergency situations, and capable of presenting information and responding to inquiries professionally.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Exhibits a demonstrated ability to remain calm, think critically, and react swiftly in high-pressure emergency situations (e.g., medical incidents, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence). Is proficient in interpreting various instructions (written, oral, diagrams, or schedules). Possesses sound judgment to make timely, informed decisions supporting daily operations and responding positively to unexpected or serious situations while managing stress effectively.
  • Adaptability & Professionalism: Shows willingness to serve alcoholic beverages and handle various food items (e.g., peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork), and to work around animals and other common allergens. Adheres strictly to Republic Airways' Flight Attendant Style Guide, encompassing uniform and appearance standards; visible tattoos are prohibited on the face (front of ears forward, underside of chin/cheeks), neck (area covered by uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, fingers, up to wrist bone). No multiple visible piercings are permitted while in uniform.
  • Operational Readiness: Possesses a minimum wingspan of approximately 55 inches to reach and safely operate all necessary aircraft equipment. Demonstrates the ability to comfortably fit into the Flight Attendant jump seat with a standard seatbelt and shoulder harness (lap belt 50 inches, shoulder harness 40 inches) without modifications.

Physical Demands

The role demands significant physical capability, including:

  • Possessing the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
  • The ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulders.
  • Capacity to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
  • Capability to walk and stand for extended periods, including during aircraft turbulence.
  • Agility to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
  • Clear vision (20/20 corrected with lenses or contacts) and acute hearing for verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Ability to fit securely in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
  • Freedom of movement within a confined aircraft environment to perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly.
  • Preparedness to work extended duty periods on consecutive days.

Work Environment and Travel

This dynamic role operates within a culturally diverse atmosphere, requiring professional interaction with passengers and crew under various conditions, including stressful situations. The Flight Attendant must be able to accommodate customers with special needs and disabilities. The position requires a flexible schedule, encompassing early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Extensive travel, up to 100% of the time, is required, and candidates must be willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
