Position Overview
Republic Airways is actively seeking highly motivated and customer-centric individuals for the pivotal role of Flight Attendant. This critical position is dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers while delivering exceptional in-flight service. The Flight Attendant operates in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company guidelines, playing a vital role in upholding the airline's unwavering commitment to operational excellence and passenger satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant performs a comprehensive range of duties essential for maintaining a secure, efficient, and pleasant cabin environment. Core responsibilities include:
- Executing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, maintaining constant attention to guest needs, and fostering a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
- Demonstrating thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and proficient use of emergency equipment on board the aircraft. This includes operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Providing professional food and beverage service to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assisting passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
- Maintaining a neat, organized, and hygienic cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Contributing to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Conducting inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assisting other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or related duties.
- Maintaining reliable and prompt attendance, adhering strictly to company policies and procedures.
- Presenting a consistently professional image through both conduct and appearance, including strict adherence to the company uniform dress code.
- Complying with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Ensuring currency with all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively fostering and embodying the company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performing additional duties as required or assigned to support overall operations.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by at least two years of customer service experience.
- Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Preferred qualifications include additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation environment, and/or previous Flight Attendant experience.

- Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and governmental regulations with precision.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, fellow crewmembers, passengers, and the general public.
- Proficient in English, including the ability to speak clearly and be understood, particularly when shouting verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment and manage stress associated with meeting deadlines and navigating unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting diverse and multiple instructions, whether furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Maintains composure, thinks critically, and reacts swiftly in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Able to make day-to-day decisions that support operational efficiency, often requiring thoughtful consideration within structured guidelines.
- Processes information rapidly and reacts positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses, acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages, and handle and serve various food items including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work effectively around animals and other common allergens and products found in a cabin environment.
- Adherence to the company’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is mandatory. Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (including the front of the face from ears forward, underside of chin and cheeks), neck (area down to where a uniform shirt collar clearly and consistently covers), and hands (including both tops and palms of hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- A minimum wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater is required to safely reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- For safety reasons, the Flight Attendant must be able to sit in the jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or modification that could compromise harness integrity. (For reference: the lap belt measures 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measures 40 inches when fastened).
- Multiple visible piercings are not permitted while in uniform.
Physical Requirements
The role of a Flight Attendant demands significant physical capability. Candidates must:
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Be capable of lifting objects above shoulders weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
- Be able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Be able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes in conditions of aircraft turbulence.
- Be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel as required.
- Possess clear vision of 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses or contacts.
- Be able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness securely fastened without any modifications.
- Be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
- Be able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment and Travel
Flight Attendants operate in a dynamic, culturally diverse environment, interacting professionally with passengers and crew, often under stressful conditions. They must be prepared to accommodate customers’ special needs and disabilities. The role requires willingness and ability to work extended periods, including a varied schedule encompassing early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including overnight stays. Relocation may be necessary based on the Company’s operational needs.
