Flight Attendant
Position Overview
The Flight Attendant is entrusted with ensuring the safety, comfort, and overall well-being of all passengers in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and comprehensive Inflight guidelines. This vital role contributes directly to a seamless and secure travel experience for every guest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To excel in this role, the Flight Attendant must satisfactorily perform a diverse range of duties. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with unwavering attention to guests, providing a safe and comfortable onboard environment.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proficient use of all emergency equipment on board the aircraft. This includes operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, requiring necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Providing food and beverage service to passengers, which involves pushing and pulling movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assisting passengers with the stowage of carry-on baggage, requiring the ability to handle items weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
- Maintaining a neat, orderly, and hygienic cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Contributing to reliable and on-time operations by collaborating effectively with other crewmembers to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Performing inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Assisting other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or other duties to support overall operational efficiency.
- Maintaining reliable and prompt attendance in strict adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Presenting a professional image at all times, both in conduct and appearance, including full compliance with the Company uniform dress code.
- Complying with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Maintaining currency and comprehensive understanding of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fostering the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performing additional duties as assigned or required to support operational needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the functions of this position:
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably within an aviation environment.
- Prior Flight Attendant experience is highly valued.
Other Requirements
- Possesses polished interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Must be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around various allergens and products.
- Adherence to the Company’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is mandatory. Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (including the front of the face from ears forward, underside of the chin and cheeks), neck (area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must have the ability to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or other modification that may compromise the harness's integrity. For reference, the lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened.
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Able to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Demonstrates the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English, including the capability to deliver and understand shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
- Must be willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with meeting deadlines and adapting to unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of and multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to remain calm, think, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Makes day-to-day operational decisions that often require careful thought and are somewhat structured.
- Able to process information rapidly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses, acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a Flight Attendant to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, utilizing necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull movable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

Travel Requirements
- Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Candidates must be willing to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
