Flight Attendant
Position Overview
The Flight Attendant is a vital member of the cabin crew, primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company inflight guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Ensure a safe, comfortable, and compliant onboard experience for all passengers, diligently performing all regulatory and assigned cabin duties.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper operation of all emergency equipment, including the ability to operate emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring up to 70 pounds of force.
- Deliver exceptional inflight service, including the provision of food and beverages, which involves pushing and pulling service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Provide assistance to passengers with stowing carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Maintain an impeccable and orderly cabin environment throughout flights.
- Contribute to operational efficiency and on-time performance by collaborating effectively with fellow crew members to adhere to all scheduled report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Execute inflight sales and promotional activities as directed.
- Collaborate with other Customer Service staff to assist with passenger handling and various related duties.
- Uphold consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Project a professional image at all times, demonstrating exemplary conduct and adhering strictly to the company's uniform dress code.
- Ensure full compliance with all associate Rules of Conduct detailed in relevant company manuals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively promote and embody the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required to support airline operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required, complemented by a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Candidates must be at least 20 years of age by the initial interview date.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional customer service experience, particularly within an aviation setting, is highly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Flight Attendant is a significant asset.
Other Requirements
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive demeanor and a strong customer-centric approach.
- Must be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Comfortable and capable of serving and handling various food items, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work in environments with animals and various allergens/products.
- Adherence to the company's Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code) is mandatory. Tattoos are strictly prohibited on the face (including the front from ears forward, underside of chin, and cheeks), neck (area below where a uniform shirt collar covers), and hands (including tops, palms, and fingers up to the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must remain entirely concealed while in uniform.
- Possesses a minimum wingspan of approximately 55 inches to effectively reach and operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- Must be able to securely sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without the need for an extender or modifications that could compromise safety. (For reference, the lap belt measures 50 inches and the shoulder harness 40 inches when fastened).
- No multiple visible piercings are permitted while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex technical procedures and governmental aviation regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to inquiries from management, fellow crew members, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluent and articulate in English, including the ability to deliver and be understood during shouted verbal commands in critical emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability
- Thrives in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, adept at managing stress associated with deadlines and unforeseen changes.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Maintains composure and acts decisively in high-pressure emergency scenarios, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:
- Possesses the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, applying necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulder height.
- Able to push and pull service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Comfortable with walking and standing for prolonged periods, including during aircraft turbulence.
- Capable of performing actions such as stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Maintains visual acuity of 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses/contacts.
- Possesses clear auditory perception for in-person verbal communications and over aircraft communication systems amidst ambient noise.
- Must be able to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened, without any modifications.
- Capable of moving freely, effectively, and quickly within the confined aircraft environment to perform all required duties.
- Able to work extended duty periods on consecutive days.
