Overview
The Flight Attendant is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers, strictly adhering to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines. This vital role contributes significantly to a positive passenger experience and seamless flight operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, a Flight Attendant must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Executes all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and proficiently operates emergency equipment, including exits, requiring the ability to exert force up to 70 pounds.
- Delivers exceptional in-flight service, including the provision of food and beverages, which involves pushing and pulling service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ensures the cabin environment remains neat, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members to ensure punctual operations, adhering to all report, departure, and turn times.
- Conducts in-flight sales and promotional activities as directed.
- Supports other Customer Service personnel with passenger handling and various operational tasks.
- Upholds company policies on attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
- Maintains a pristine professional appearance, strictly adhering to the company uniform policy.
- Adheres to all company Rules of Conduct and maintains up-to-date knowledge of Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively promotes and embodies the company's core values and culture.
- Performs additional duties as required to support flight operations.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required, complemented by a minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Applicants must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the initial interview.
- Preferred: Additional years of customer service experience, particularly within an aviation environment, or prior Flight Attendant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, positive demeanor, and a strong customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and governmental aviation regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate information to and respond to inquiries from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to communicate clearly and loudly with shouted verbal commands in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm, think critically, and react swiftly in high-pressure emergency scenarios, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Capability to interpret and follow diverse instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to process information rapidly and respond effectively to unexpected or critical situations.
- Proven ability to manage personal and emotional responses under high levels of stress.
Other Essential Requirements
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages and handle various food products, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Comfort working with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Adherence to strict uniform and appearance standards; tattoos are not permitted on the face (including front of face from ears forward, underside of chin, cheeks), neck (area covered by a uniform shirt collar), and hands (tops, palms, fingers, up through wrist bone). All other tattoos must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- A wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater is required to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- Ability to sit comfortably in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without extender or other modification that may compromise the integrity of the harness. (Reference: lap belt measurement is 50 inches when fastened; shoulder harness measurement is 40 inches when fastened).
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Physical Demands

- Capability to exert force up to 70 pounds to operate emergency equipment and exits.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulder height.
- Strength to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Capacity to stand and walk for extended durations, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Proficiency in stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Visual acuity of 20/20 or better with corrective lenses, and clear auditory perception of verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Ability to maneuver freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined aircraft cabin to perform all required functions.
- Willingness to work extended duty periods over sequential days.

Travel Requirements
This position requires extensive travel, up to 100% of the time, encompassing nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. Relocation may be required based on the Company’s operational needs.
