Flight Attendant
Republic Airways is seeking dedicated and professional individuals to join its Inflight team as a Flight Attendant. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers throughout every flight, operating in strict accordance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company guidelines. The Flight Attendant serves as a primary point of contact for passengers, providing exceptional service while maintaining a secure and orderly cabin environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Flight Attendant performs a variety of essential duties to ensure a safe, comfortable, and efficient travel experience:
- Performs all required regulatory and assigned cabin duties, consistently prioritizing guest attention and safety.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and onboard emergency equipment, including the operation of emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides food and beverage service to passengers, which involves handling and maneuvering service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with the safe stowage of carry-on baggage weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ensures the cabin environment remains neat, clean, and well-organized.
- Collaborates effectively with other crewmembers to meet reporting, departure, and minimum turn times, contributing to reliable and on-time flight operations.
- Conducts inflight sales and promotional activities as required.
- Supports other Customer Service personnel with passenger handling and related tasks when needed.
- Upholds reliable and punctual attendance in adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Projects a consistently professional image through conduct and appearance, strictly following the Company uniform dress code.
- Complies with all Associate Rules of Conduct outlined in applicable company manuals.
- Keeps Inflight guides and manuals current and readily accessible.
- Actively fosters the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performs additional assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education and Experience:
- Possession of a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- A minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, with preference given to experience in an aviation setting.
- Previous experience working as a Flight Attendant.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Exhibits polished interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive attitude and a strong customer-oriented approach.
- Demonstrates the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Effectively presents information and responds to inquiries from management, crew members, passengers, and the general public.
- Is able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, including shouting verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Reasoning and Problem Solving:
- Works effectively in a time-sensitive environment and manages stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Remains calm, thinks clearly, and reacts quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical events, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Decision Making:
- Makes day-to-day decisions that support operational needs, often requiring thoughtful consideration within a structured framework.
- Processes information rapidly and reacts positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Maintains control over personal and emotional responses, acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be willing and able to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be willing and able to serve and handle items such as peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around various allergens and products.
- Adheres strictly to the Republic Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding appearance and uniform standards. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and feet must be less than 2” x 3.25”; larger visible tattoos must be fully covered by an approved method.
- Possesses a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to safely reach and operate necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without requiring an extender or any modification that compromises harness integrity. (Lap belt measures 50 inches when fastened; shoulder harness measures 40 inches when fastened, for reference).
- Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
Physical Demands:
The role necessitates meeting specific physical demands to successfully perform essential job functions:
- Must possess the physical strength required to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulder height.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Capable of walking and standing for extended periods, sometimes in conditions of aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more, with or without corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to hear verbal communications clearly in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.

The Flight Attendant works in a dynamic and varied environment:
- Works comfortably and professionally in a culturally diverse atmosphere, interacting effectively with passengers and crew, including under stressful conditions.
- Possesses the ability to accommodate customers with special needs or disabilities.
- Is willing and able to work for extended periods and adhere to a varied schedule that includes early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
This position requires extensive travel:
- Travel is required up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs is required.
