Flight Attendant
Republic Airways is seeking a dedicated Flight Attendant to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers while adhering to FAA and Inflight guidelines. The Flight Attendant plays a crucial role in providing a positive and safe onboard experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, providing constant attention to guests.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and operates all emergency equipment, including exits, with the necessary movements and force (up to 70 pounds).
- Provides food and beverage service, which includes pushing and pulling carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage (up to 35 pounds).
- Maintains a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Contributes to on-time operations by collaborating with crewmembers to meet schedules.
- Performs inflight sales and promotional duties.
- Assists other Customer Service staff with passenger handling.
- Maintains reliable and prompt attendance.
- Presents a professional image in conduct and appearance, adhering to the uniform dress code.
- Complies with associate Rules of Conduct.
- Maintains current Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the Company’s core values and culture.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
- Polished interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Ability to speak and be understood in English, including shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
- Willingness to work in a time-sensitive environment and handle stress associated with deadlines and unexpected changes.
- Capability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to remain calm and react quickly in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
- Ability to make day-to-day decisions to support operations and process information quickly, reacting positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Capability to control personal and emotional responses and act appropriately under high levels of stress.
- Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits using necessary movements and force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef and pork.
- Able to work with animals and around other allergens and products.
- Must have a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to reach and safely operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- Must not have multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
- Must be able to sit in assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, preferably in an aviation environment.
- Previous Flight Attendant experience.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sometimes with aircraft turbulence.
- Ability to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Ability to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Ability to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Ability to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment:
- Ability and willingness to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and professionally interact with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- The ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights.
- Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
