Piedmont Airlines invites driven, reliable, and service-oriented professionals to join its esteemed Inflight Service Department as a Flight Attendant. As a key member of the team, the Flight Attendant is responsible for setting the standard for safety and delivering industry-leading service excellence onboard American Eagle flights. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Flight Attendant is to operate independently within the aircraft cabin, ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers. Key duties include:

  • Setting the highest standard for safety compliance and service delivery onboard American Eagle flights.
  • Providing leadership and decisive response during a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Handling diverse situations while maintaining continuous, professional contact with the public.
  • Working independently within the aircraft cabin without direct supervision.
  • Operating effectively in a variety of climates and locations while adhering to variable shift schedules.

Minimum Job Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria to be considered for the Flight Attendant role:

  • Minimum age of 21 years at the time of application.
  • Possession of a valid passport permitting unrestricted travel to and from the United States.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
  • Height requirement: Must be between 5’2” and 6’0”.
  • Ability to maintain a professional image, which strictly prohibits visible tattoos; facial, multiple, or upper ear piercing; or hair color not naturally occurring on humans while in uniform.
  • Willingness to accommodate variable duty periods, including shifts extending up to 14 hours per day.
  • Physical capability to walk and fit comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward, move quickly through the over-wing exit, and sit in the flight attendant jump seat without modification or a seat belt extension.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) completion is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) or more years of prior customer service experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment

This position requires extensive travel and the ability to spend consecutive nights away from the assigned base. Work occurs across all shifts, including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays, and/or irregular schedules. The work environment is typical of an airport ramp and warehouse, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels.

Physical Requirements

The Flight Attendant role is physically demanding and requires:

  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing for prolonged periods, reaching, and climbing up and down stairs.
  • Capability to handle objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pull or push catering carts in excess of 150 pounds.
  • Assisting passengers with disabilities, including, but not limited to, pushing wheelchairs.

Training and Employment Contingencies

Training

Selected candidates are required to successfully complete thirty-two days of paid ground school training scheduled in Charlotte, NC. All candidates must reside at the designated hotel during the five-week ground school period. This foundational training will be followed by up to two weeks of mandatory on-the-job training (OJT). Successful completion of all phases of training is mandatory for continued employment.

Contingencies

Employment is contingent upon a clear driving record, successful completion of a 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and satisfactory drug screening as required by regulatory standards.
