Flight Attendant
Piedmont Airlines is seeking a motivated and reliable Flight Attendant to join its Inflight Service Department in Charlotte, NC. This is a full-time position.
As a Flight Attendant, the individual will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of safety and inflight service delivery on board American Eagle flights. He/She will handle a variety of situations while interacting with the public and working independently in the cabin without supervision. The position reports to the Hub Manager, Inflight Services.
Essential Duties:
- Handles a wide variety of situations while in continuous contact with the public.
- Works independently in the aircraft cabin without supervision.
- Ensures the safety and comfort of passengers.
- Provides leadership in response to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Works in a variety of climates and locations on variable shifts.
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
- Height must be between 5'2" and 6'0".
- Must be willing to work up to 14 hours per day.
- Must maintain a professional image with no visible tattoos; facial, multiple, or upper ear piercing; or unnatural hair color while in uniform.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to walk comfortably down the aircraft aisle while facing forward, move quickly through the over-wing exit, and sit in the flight attendant jump seat without modification or a seat belt extension.
- Must possess a valid passport for unrestricted travel to/from the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
Work Environment:
- Airport ramp/warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels.
- All shifts including weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shifts.
- Extensive travel, with the ability to spend consecutive nights away from base.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairs.
- Long periods of standing and speaking.
- Ability to handle objects up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to pull or push catering carts in excess of 150 pounds.
- Ability to assist passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs.
Training:
Thirty-five days of paid ground school training is scheduled in Charlotte, NC. All candidates are required to reside at the hotel during ground school for five weeks. Ground school will be followed by up to two weeks of on-the-job training. Successful completion of all phases of training is required.
Employment is contingent upon a clear driving record, a 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and a drug screen as required. Proof of high school or GED completion is also required, as well as being a minimum of 21 years of age.
