Overview

Purpose of Position

This positions primary responsibility is to conduct FAA mandatory ground training for EJM crewmembers (pilots and cabin attendants). Additionally, the Ground Instructor will be utilized to conduct training to other company personnel on Operations related material and to travel to offsite providers of flight crew training to ensure the General Operations Manual (GOM) training is being properly administered. Responsible for ensuring that the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Classroom Facilitator/Coordinator – Provides required ground instruction to pilot initial new hires and recurrent training utilizing lecture, video, and computer aided courses. Also provides training to other company personnel on Operations related material. Conducts classroom presentations in accordance with published schedules, training outlines and training manual. Communicates and coordinates with other groups and departments on training activities that are provided by the Flight Operations Department. Actively manages and completes task deadlines as necessary.
  • Project Assistance – Assists with Flight Operations Department related projects and activities as assigned by management. Partners and teams with fellow Ground Instructors to complete daily and other assigned tasks.
  • Records Administration – Maintains an accurate and complete record of training conducted and approved training program forms and procedures. Audits training records and training centers as required.
  • Courseware Development – Create and assist fellow instructors with editing and maintaining existing presentations and development of new classroom material. Develops and maintains ground school curriculums and courseware.
  • Administrative duties: briefings, scheduling, records management, post class follow up. Develops and maintains positive relationships with crew members by delivering friendly, courteous service to all internal and external clients. Ensures timely notification and escalation of issues within the training department.

Bachelor’s in Business or Aviation

  • Proven experience in one on one and group training techniques with strong platform/classroom facilitation skills and classroom management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technical and complex concepts and meet diverse learner needs by selecting appropriate methodologies to maximize learning.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a multi-task environment both independently and as part of a team.
  • Line qualification in aircraft type operated by EJM, Airline Transport Pilot, Certified Flight Instructor or Advanced Ground Instructor certificate preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in team building and customer service.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate preferred
  • Previous experience in 121, 135 or corporate 91 aviation required.
