Position Summary
The Flight Attendant is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience, upholding NetJets' exceptional safety record on every flight. As the face of the NetJets Large Cabin experience, the Flight Attendant not only ensures safe transportation but also delivers an outstanding inflight service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role requires versatility, embodying a concierge service level, with duties ranging from inflight chef and service professional to a paramount safety expert. The Flight Attendant is expected to consistently maintain a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of all Owners and passengers within the aircraft cabin, strictly complying with the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), Service Procedures Checklist, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs comprehensive interior pre-flight checks, warmly greets Owners and passengers, and provides detailed briefings on specific aircraft features and safety protocols.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on all onboard safety, entertainment, and comfort features of the aircraft.
- Procures catering from outside sources when necessary to meet Owner preferences.
- Delivers exceptional in-flight service, including the responsible handling of alcohol, professional service of catering, meticulous preparation of beds, and diligent adherence to detailed Owner notes and profiles.
- Ensures that all cabin baggage is properly and securely stowed.
- Capable of conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
- Collaborates effectively within a team/crew environment, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Acts as a primary liaison for Owners and passengers, representing NetJets from their arrival at the FBO until their safe landing at the destination and departure from the final FBO.
- Communicates any cabin maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies promptly and accurately to the Pilot in Command.
- Completes all necessary paperwork associated with inventory management, passdowns, and required crew reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned, depending on specific flight assignments.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus on hospitality, customer service, business, or culinary skills.
Experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience in customer service, culinary arts, the broader service industry, or aviation.
Required Skills & Attributes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly effective under pressure.
- Proficiency in personal computing, including but not limited to MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions (e.g., ability to fit in a jump seat, wear a harness without modification, navigate cabin aisles, and use emergency exits).
- Ability to work varying hours including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Extremely flexible and demonstrates the ability to adjust to rapid changes in schedule and itinerary.
- Capable of managing rest to be consistently prepared for flight duty during assigned tours.
- Willingness to undertake duty periods that may last for as long as fourteen (14) hours per day for up to eight (8) consecutive days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather conditions during a trip.
- While on duty, may be away from home for seven (7) or more days and nights, requiring overnight stays in hotels.
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- Must successfully pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Possession of a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
- Possession of a valid State driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
- Possesses a service-oriented demeanor with a neat, well-groomed appearance, demonstrating a strong capability to effectively interact with passengers and make a positive impression.
- Demonstrates the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
- Physical capability to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Comfortable working around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
- Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
- Must obtain and maintain Flight Attendant Certification and fulfill all FAA requirements post-hire.
- Must successfully meet and complete the rigorous NetJets Part 135 Flight Attendant Training Program.
