Purpose of Position

The Flight Attendant is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience, upholding NetJets' unparalleled safety record on each and every flight. As the ambassador of NetJets' Large Cabin service, the Flight Attendant ensures not only safe transportation but also delivers an exceptional inflight service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role requires the ability to seamlessly transition between various functions, serving as an inflight chef, an elite service professional, and a safety expert, to deliver a truly concierge-level experience while consistently maintaining a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

The Flight Attendant's comprehensive tasks and responsibilities are critical to ensuring both safety and a world-class service experience:

  • Ensuring the paramount safety of all Owners and passengers within the aircraft cabin, strictly adhering to the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM), Service Procedures Checklist, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performing thorough interior preflight inspections, warmly greeting Owners and passengers, and providing detailed briefings on specific aircraft features and safety protocols.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on all onboard safety, entertainment, and comfort features of the aircraft.
  • Procuring catering from outside sources when necessary to meet unique Owner preferences.
  • Delivering impeccable in-flight service, including the responsible handling of alcohol, professional catering service, preparing beds, and meticulously following detailed Owner notes and profiles.
  • Ensuring that all cabin baggage is properly and securely stowed.
  • Accommodating Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
  • Working collaboratively within a team/crew environment and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Acting as a primary liaison for Owners and passengers, from their arrival at the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) until their safe landing at their destination and departure from the final FBO.
  • Accurately communicating any cabin maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Pilot in Command.
  • Diligently completing all required paperwork associated with inventory management, passdowns, and any necessary crew reports.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A Bachelor's degree, with a focus on hospitality, customer service, business, or culinary skills, is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience in customer service, culinary arts, the service industry, or aviation is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAOs)

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in personal computing, including but not limited to MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
  • Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions to comfortably utilize jump seats, harnesses without modification, cabin aisles, and emergency exits.
  • Ability to work varying hours, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated extreme flexibility and the ability to adjust to rapid changes in schedule or plans.
  • Capable of effectively managing personal rest to be prepared for flight duty during assigned tours.
  • Duty periods may last for as long as fourteen hours per day for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather differences during a trip.
  • While on duty, the Flight Attendant may be away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Must successfully pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
  • Possession of a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
  • Possession of a valid State driver's license.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including a strong capability to effectively interact with passengers.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Proven ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Physical capability to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work around animals, including the handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
  • Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
  • Commitment to maintaining Flight Attendant Certification and fulfilling all FAA requirements post-hire.
  • Successful completion of the NetJets Part 135 Flight Attendant Training Program.
