Job Description
Flight Attendants are the face of Mesa Airlines. As such, they must be reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times. The position requires Flight Attendants to maintain a positive, approachable, and accommodating attitude while delivering extraordinary customer service. A successful Flight Attendant must have in-depth knowledge of all safety procedures, service standards, and company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
Provide constant attention to our customers, providing them with a safe and reliable onboard experienceGreet passengers, monitor carry-on baggage, and direct passengers to assigned seatsAbility to remain positive, respectful, and understanding during challenging situations and passenger conflictMaintain physical health and professional appearance standardsMaintain a thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and the ability to operate all emergency equipment onboard the aircraftExplain the use of safety equipment to passengers in a clear, concise mannerServe beverages, snacks, and meals where applicableAssist passengers in storing carry-on luggage in the overhead or under-seat storageInform passengers of Federal Aviation RegulationsPerform duties required to assist with inflight medical emergencies and special needs passengers, i.e., unaccompanied minors, visually or hearing impaired, language impaired, elderly, physically challenged, etc.Abide by policies outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards

We’re excited to share a recent increase in our Flight Attendant starting pay – now $27.82 per flight hour in the first year, with a raise at your first anniversary. Flight Attendants are paid per flight hour, and we will cover all the details about flight hours during an information session if you’re selected to move forward in the application process.

Bases
The location for this position is based on the company's operational needs and seniority. Current bases are as follows and are subject to change:
IAD (Washington, D.C.)
IAH (Houston, TX)
SDF (Louisville, KY)
New hires will be assigned to one of the above bases during training.

Requirements
At least 18 years oldA high school diploma or Equivalent is required; college credits OR a minimum of two years of customer service experience is preferred.Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and dependabilityRead, write, and speak English fluently.Upon completion of training, willing to be assigned to any of Mesa Airlines crew bases (may involve relocation or commuting) based on the company's operational needs.Willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hoursHeight between 4'11'' and 6' without shoes - must be able to reach in overhead bins and galley compartments to retrieve emergency equipmentAbility to perform all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors, lifting up to 40 pounds to shoulder height, assisting with carry-on baggage stowage, and operating meal and beverage carts. Present a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all timesAbility to sit in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification; walk comfortably down the aisle facing forward, and fit quickly through the overwing exitsMinimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrectedAuthorized to work in the United StatesPossess and maintain a valid passportHave the legal ability to travel unrestricted to/from all countries that are served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas & CubaApplicants must have the authorization to make multiple entries into the United States at will.Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history.Pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug, alcohol, and random screening throughout your employment, which includes screening for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamine.
