Mesa Airlines is seeking dedicated and personable individuals to serve as Flight Attendants. As integral representatives of the airline, Flight Attendants are expected to embody reliability, punctuality, and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The role demands a consistently positive, approachable, and accommodating demeanor while ensuring an extraordinary travel experience for all passengers. Successful candidates will possess comprehensive knowledge of all safety protocols, service standards, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides consistent attention to passengers, ensuring a safe and reliable onboard experience.
  • Greets passengers warmly, assists with monitoring carry-on baggage, and directs passengers to assigned seating.
  • Maintains a positive, respectful, and understanding approach, particularly during challenging situations or passenger conflicts.
  • Upholds stringent physical health and professional appearance standards at all times.
  • Maintains thorough working knowledge of all emergency procedures and demonstrates the ability to effectively operate all onboard emergency equipment.
  • Clearly and concisely explains the use of safety equipment to passengers.
  • Serves beverages, snacks, and meals where applicable.
  • Assists passengers with the proper stowage of carry-on luggage in overhead bins or under seats.
  • Informs passengers of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Performs necessary duties to assist during inflight medical emergencies and provides support for passengers with special needs, including unaccompanied minors, visually or hearing-impaired individuals, language-impaired persons, the elderly, and physically challenged passengers.
  • Adheres strictly to all policies outlined in the Company's Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, Flight Attendant Manual, and Code Share Partner standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college credits or a minimum of two years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate consistent reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be willing and able to accept assignment to any of Mesa Airlines' crew bases upon completion of training, based on the company's operational needs, which may involve relocation or commuting.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
  • Height between 4'11'' and 6'0'' without shoes, with the ability to reach into overhead bins and galley compartments to retrieve emergency equipment.
  • Ability to perform all safety-related procedures, including operating aircraft doors, lifting up to 40 pounds to shoulder height, assisting with carry-on baggage stowage, and operating meal and beverage carts.
  • Must present a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Ability to sit comfortably in the flight attendant jumpseat without modification, walk comfortably down the aisle facing forward, and fit quickly through overwing exits.
  • Minimum 20/40 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid passport.
  • Must have the legal ability to travel unrestricted to/from all countries served by Mesa Airlines, including Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, and Cuba, and possess authorization for multiple entries into the United States.
  • Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, including FBI fingerprinting and criminal history check.
  • Ability to pass a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and be subject to random screenings throughout employment. Please note that the DOT prohibits the use of medical marijuana for safety-sensitive employees.

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting compensation for Flight Attendants is $18.67 per flight hour, progressing to $20.24 per flight hour after six months and $22.22 per flight hour after 12 months, with annual increases thereafter. Average earnings for a Flight Attendant in the first year of employment are approximately $23,000, with potential for additional income. Flight attendants have numerous opportunities to earn extra monthly income through programs such as crash-pad assistance and partial hotel cost reimbursement when electing not to stay in company-provided accommodations. These opportunities can potentially add an additional $500 monthly ($6,000 annually). Mesa Air Group offers comprehensive health plans, attractive travel benefits, bonuses, and more.

Base Information:

Crew base assignments are determined by the company's operational needs and seniority. Current bases include IAD (Washington, D.C.), IAH (Houston, TX), and SDF (Louisville, KY), and are subject to change. New hires are assigned to one of the current bases during the initial training period.
