Kansas State University's Aerospace and Technology Campus invites applications for an experienced Certified Flight Instructor to join its expanding team of aviation flight professionals. This Advanced Flight Instructor position is responsible for conducting comprehensive flight training for students pursuing a range of certifications, including Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and Flight Instructor. The instructor will also perform other training duties as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor. This is a full-time, on-site position located at the employer premises or designated assignment location in Salina, Kansas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality flight and ground instruction in accordance with FAA regulations and university curriculum standards.
- Train students for Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot, Commercial Pilot, and Flight Instructor certifications.
- Conduct other flight training activities as delegated by the Chief Flight Instructor.
- Maintain detailed and accurate training records.
- Uphold and promote strong safety practices, procedures, and culture within the flight training environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of relevant aviation experience.
- Possession of FAA Certified Flight Instructor (Single-Engine Land) (CFI) and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) Certificates upon commencement of employment.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 500 hours of dual instruction given.
- Experience recommending at least 7 students for FAA check rides with an 80% or higher first attempt pass rate.
- Additional FAA flight instructor ratings and/or endorsements.
- Two years of dedicated flight instructor experience.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed documentation of training records.
- A strong commitment to aviation safety.
Compensation:
The anticipated hiring pay range for this position is $56,000 to $73,000 annually. Salary offers are commensurate with the candidate's experience and educational background.
