About the Role
Horizon Air seeks dedicated and gracious Flight Attendants to represent Alaska Airlines and deliver signature inflight experiences. This dynamic role involves regional travel throughout the Western United States, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and maintain the working order of all aircraft safety equipment.
- Provide a welcoming environment for passengers, assisting with seating, carry-on baggage, and security.
- Clearly explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and serve a variety of meals and beverages, including alcoholic beverages.
- Effectively market onboard products and services, processing sales via mobile devices.
- Calmly and effectively manage passenger situations, including medical emergencies, during flights.
- Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight operations and offer destination information.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth flight operations.
Application Requirements
A critical component of the application process is a self-guided voice interview. This interview, which requires no camera, will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. Applicants must ensure they are in a quiet location for the duration of the interview. This essential step must be completed by December 3rd at 7:00 PM Pacific Time for applications to be considered.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of customer or community service experience.
- Unwavering commitment to safety as the top priority.
- Ability to meet specific aircraft dimensions for safety equipment, jump seats, and cabin access.
- Compliance with the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform all flight attendant duties.
- Willingness to relocate to one of Horizon Air's flight attendant bases.
- Willingness to serve alcohol.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
- Adaptability to perform diverse duties and perform effectively under stress.
- Ability to attend four (4) weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
- Possession of a current passport with unlimited U.S. access and ability to fly unrestricted into Canada. Appropriate documentation required for non-U.S. passports.
- Proficiency in communicating in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Training & Policies
Paid training, lasting four (4) weeks, will be conducted in Portland, Oregon. Horizon Air enforces a specific tattoo policy: no visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is permitted per hand. Tattoos in other areas must not exceed credit card size or be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are permissible only if not visible from a direct frontal view. Tattoos may only be covered with uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches; makeup is not permitted for coverage.
Compensation & Benefits
This position is paid per a collective bargaining agreement. The first-year step rate is $20.66 per hour, with a starting rate of $0.00/Hr. Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) badge provided by the airport authority.
