Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations and maintain the working order of aircraft safety equipment.
- Greet passengers, assist with seating arrangements, baggage stowage, and security protocols.
- Effectively demonstrate and explain the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and serve meals, beverages, and process onboard sales using mobile devices.
- Calmly and professionally manage passenger situations, including medical emergencies.
- Provide information regarding flight operations and destination details.
- Perform all other assigned duties to ensure a safe and pleasant flight experience.
Job-Specific Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.
- Unwavering dedication to safety and passenger well-being.
- Ability to meet specific aircraft dimension requirements for safety equipment and cabin access.
- Adherence to company grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
- Physical capability to perform all flight attendant duties.
- Willingness to relocate to any of Horizon Air's flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
- Willingness to serve alcohol.
- Proficiency with basic computer literacy and technology.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
- Adaptability to diverse duties and effective performance under stress.
- Ability to attend and complete a four-week paid training program in Portland, OR.
- Possession of a current passport with unlimited U.S. entry/exit capabilities and the ability to fly unrestricted into Canada.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Application Process
Important Application Requirement: Prospective candidates must complete a self-guided voice interview (approximately 30-40 minutes). A quiet location is essential for this audio assessment. Applications will only be considered if this step is completed by December 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time.
Training and Compensation
- Paid four-week training program in Portland, OR.
- First-year step rate: $20.66 per hour (as per collective bargaining agreement).
- This is a union-represented position.

Important Considerations
- Tattoo Policy: Visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest are not permitted. Specific guidelines apply to tattoos on hands, arms, legs, feet, back of the neck, and behind ears. Tattoos may only be covered with uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches.
- Airport SIDA Badge: Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge. Failure to qualify or maintain this badge may result in termination.
- DOT Regulations: As a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated entity, applicants must be aware of and undergo post-offer/pre-employment drug testing.
