Role Summary

As the welcoming face of Horizon Air, Flight Attendants are responsible for creating a positive and memorable inflight experience for every guest. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of inflight service duties and a unwavering commitment to safety procedures. The ideal candidate will possess an authentic, gracious demeanor, a strong desire to assist passengers, and the ability to foster a positive environment for both guests and colleagues. This is a union-represented position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain full compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ensure all onboard safety equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Greet passengers, assist with seating arrangements, and help with carry-on baggage stowage and security.
  • Clearly explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcoholic selections.
  • Effectively market and process sales of onboard products using a mobile device.
  • Calmly and efficiently manage passenger situations, including medical emergencies, during flight.
  • Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight operations and provide destination information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure seamless flight operations.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of customer or community service experience.
  • An uncompromising dedication to passenger and crew safety.
  • Ability to meet specific aircraft dimension requirements, including fitting comfortably in jump seats and accessing emergency exits without modification.
  • Adherence to company grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
  • Demonstrated physical ability to perform all flight attendant duties.
  • Willingness to relocate to any of the company's flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
  • Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and maintain effectiveness under pressure.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete four (4) weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current passport with unlimited access to and from the United States. Non-U.S. passport holders must possess appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted into and out of Canada.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Application Requirements

A mandatory self-guided voice interview, requiring approximately 30-40 minutes to complete, is essential for application submission. Candidates must ensure they are in a quiet location for this assessment. This critical step must be completed by December 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time for the application to be considered.

Training and Policies

  • Training: Four (4) weeks of paid training will be conducted in Portland, OR.
  • Tattoo Policy: No visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest. One tattoo no larger than a quarter is permitted per hand. Tattoos in other areas cannot exceed the size of a credit card or be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of the neck, or behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are permissible only if not visible when looking directly at the individual. Coverage is limited to uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches; makeup is not permitted for concealment.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Rate: USD $0.00/Hr.
First Year Step Rate: $20.66 per contract.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Employees working at airports or maintenance hangars are required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge issued by the airport authority.
