Flight Attendant - Horizon Air

The Role
As a representative of Horizon Air, and by extension Alaska Airlines, the Flight Attendant serves as the face of the company. This position demands an authentic and gracious hosting approach, coupled with an in-depth understanding of inflight service duties and comprehensive safety procedures. A strong commitment to maintaining a positive, approachable demeanor with guests and colleagues is essential for fostering an airline that passengers love. This is a union-represented position.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
- Verify that all safety equipment onboard aircraft is in optimal working condition.
- Greet passengers, assist with seating arrangements, and ensure proper stowage of carry-on baggage.
- Clearly explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcoholic selections.
- Effectively market onboard products and services, processing sales using a mobile device.
- Calmly and effectively manage passenger situations during flight, including medical emergencies.
- Respond to passenger inquiries regarding flight operations and provide destination information.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth flight operations.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required Experience, Education & Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.
- An uncompromising dedication to safety is paramount.
- Must be able to meet specific aircraft dimensions for safety equipment, including jump seats, harnesses, cabin aisles, and emergency exits, without modification.
- Ability to adhere to the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the essential duties of a Flight Attendant.
- Willingness to relocate to any of the company's flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
- Willingness to serve alcohol.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
- Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and perform effectively under stress.
- Must be able to attend 4 weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current passport with unlimited access in and out of the United States. Employees with non-U.S. passports must also possess appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted into and out of Canada.
- Proficiency in English communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Training and Policies
- Training: A comprehensive 4-week paid training program is mandatory and will be held in Portland, OR.
- Tattoo Policy: Visible tattoos are not permitted on the face, front of the neck, or chest. One tattoo, no larger than a quarter, is allowed per hand. Tattoos in other areas must not exceed the size of a credit card and cannot be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of the neck, and behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of the neck and behind the ears are only permitted if not visible when looking directly at the individual. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch; makeup is not an acceptable covering.
