Horizon Air Flight Attendant
Horizon Air seeks a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join their team as a Flight Attendant, based in Portland, Oregon. Role Summary
The Flight Attendant serves as the face of Horizon Air, representing both brands with authenticity and grace. They will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of inflight service protocols and safety regulations, ensuring the well-being of all passengers. The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive and approachable demeanor, fostering a collaborative and enjoyable atmosphere for both guests and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full compliance with all safety regulations.
- Verify the operational status of all safety equipment on the aircraft.
- Greet passengers and provide assistance with seating, carry-on baggage, and security procedures.
- Clearly explain and demonstrate the use of safety equipment and emergency protocols for both aircraft models.
- Prepare and serve meals and beverages, including alcoholic options.
- Effectively promote onboard products, such as meals and entertainment, utilizing a mobile device for sales transactions.
- Manage passenger situations with composure, including medical emergencies.
- Address inquiries regarding flight operations and provide destination details.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Details
New hires will complete a four-week paid training program in Portland, Oregon. The company enforces a specific tattoo policy: no visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest; one tattoo of a quarter size or smaller per hand is permitted. Tattoos elsewhere cannot exceed the size of a credit card or be offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear, provided the neck and ear tattoos are not visible when looking directly at the individual. Tattoos must be covered by uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches. Makeup is not an acceptable method of concealment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer or community service.
- Unwavering commitment to safety regulations.
- Body size must meet specific aircraft dimension requirements.
- Ability to adhere to the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
- Demonstrated physical capability to perform flight attendant duties.
- Willingness to relocate to any of the flight attendant base locations: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; or Everett, WA.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with technology.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Capacity for extensive travel.
- Adaptability to perform diverse duties and function effectively under stress.
- Availability to attend a 4-week paid training in Portland, OR.
- Must hold and/or acquire a valid passport with unrestricted access into and out of the United States. Employees with non-U.S. passports will require appropriate travel documentation. Must be able to fly unrestricted in and out of Canada.
- Proficiency in English communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar will be required to secure and maintain a SIDA badge from the airport authority. Continued employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain this badge. A detailed explanation of SIDA badge requirements is available for review.

Salary Details

This role is compensated according to the collective bargaining agreement.
