Flight Attendant
Horizon Air, a regional carrier flying throughout the West, is seeking dedicated individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. As a vital part of the cabin crew, Flight Attendants are responsible for creating a signature inflight experience for guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety. Role Summary
The Flight Attendant serves as the primary representative of Horizon Air during flight, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all passengers. This role requires a deep understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures, as well as proficiency in delivering exceptional inflight service. The Flight Attendant must maintain a positive and approachable demeanor with guests and colleagues, contributing to a welcoming and enjoyable travel experience. This position is represented by a union.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures full compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Verifies the proper functioning of all safety equipment aboard the aircraft.
- Greets passengers, assists with seating, carry-on baggage stowage, and security checks.
- Clearly explains and demonstrates the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Prepares and serves meals, beverages (including alcohol), and markets onboard products.
- Processes sales using a mobile device.
- Manages and resolves passenger situations calmly and effectively, including medical events.
- Provides information regarding flight operations and destination details.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth flight operations and guest satisfaction.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of two years of customer or community service experience is required.
- Must demonstrate an uncompromising dedication to safety.
- Must meet specific aircraft dimension requirements (e.g., jump seat, harness fit, cabin aisle, emergency exits).
- Adherence to the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards is mandatory. The tattoo policy permits no visible tattoos on the face, front of the neck, or chest. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller is allowed per hand. Tattoos in other locations must be no larger than a credit card and not offensive. Employees may have one tattoo per arm, leg, foot, back of neck, or behind each ear, provided they are not visible when viewed directly from the front. Tattoos may only be covered by uniform pieces or approved jewelry/watches; makeup is not permitted for covering tattoos.
- Must possess the physical ability to perform all duties required of a Flight Attendant.
- Must be willing and able to relocate to any designated Flight Attendant base: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages is required.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort utilizing technology are necessary.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively is required.
- Must demonstrate adaptability, the ability to perform diverse duties, and effectiveness under stress.
- Ability to attend and successfully complete four weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a current passport permitting unlimited access in and out of the United States and Canada. Employees with non-U.S. passports must also possess all appropriate travel documentation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA badge in good standing is required. Failure to qualify for or maintain the SIDA badge will result in termination.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a union-represented position with compensation based on the collective bargaining agreement. The first-year step rate is $20.66 per contract hour. A comprehensive total rewards package is offered, which may vary by location, hours, tenure, and employment status. Benefits include:

Additional Details
Applicants may be required to complete an audio assessment as part of the application process, taking approximately 40 minutes. Training consists of four weeks of paid instruction held in Portland, OR. All applicants for safety-sensitive positions are subject to pre-employment drug testing for specific substances per DOT regulations (49 CFR part 40).
