Job Summary

Hawaiian Airlines seeks professional Flight Attendants dedicated to ensuring guest safety and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires individuals capable of performing safety procedures, managing emergency situations, and providing a welcoming Aloha experience to guests. This is a union-represented position.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct preflight preparations and attend briefings covering flight details, emergency procedures, and onboard services.
  • Prepare the aircraft cabin for boarding and departure.
  • Greet guests, assist with seating and luggage, and respond to inquiries throughout the flight.
  • Demonstrate safety equipment usage and ensure guest compliance with safety regulations.
  • Direct and assist guests during emergencies, administer first aid as needed, and report incidents.
  • Provide in-flight food and beverage service and handle onboard payment reconciliation.
  • Prepare the cabin for landing and assist with guest deplaning.
  • Complete annual FAA-approved re-certification and maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Obtain and maintain authorization for unescorted access to aircraft and SIDA areas.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Maintain professionalism and address potential issues effectively.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including working at high altitudes and varied schedules.
  • Assist ill or incapacitated passengers and crew members.
  • Participate in emergency evacuations and handle emergency equipment.
  • Remove and lift emergency cabin windows (up to 60 pounds).
  • Safely descend emergency slides from a height of approximately 24.5 feet.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum age of 21.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry, OR four (4) years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution with the general public in industries such as retail, education, healthcare, and/or professional services.
  • Vertical Reach of 82 inches.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
  • Ability to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
  • Valid passport and ability to secure applicable visas for international travel.
  • Legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Travel documents must remain valid throughout training and employment.
  • Ability to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Satisfactorily complete annual FAA-approved re-certification.
  • Possess the ability to learn and maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures in accordance with Hawaiian and FAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and ability to effectively diffuse and resolve difficult customer situations.
  • Comfortable participating in swimming pool training with a life vest and being in water during an inflight emergency.
  • Ability to properly secure oneself in a jump seat with a harness and move expeditiously through the cabin aisle.
  • Successfully complete an FAA-approved, unpaid eight (8) week intensive training program in Honolulu.
  • Successfully pass a tuberculosis (TB) test.
  • Must present a professional image, adhering to uniform and appearance standards which may include restrictions on visible body art, piercings, and hair color/style.

Preferred:

  • College education or degree.

Salary and Benefits

Starting Rate: USD $0.00/Hr. (during training)

First Year Step Rate: $28.96 per contract
