Job Summary
Hawaiian Airlines is seeking dedicated Flight Attendants to ensure the safety and comfort of guests aboard company aircraft. This role requires individuals who are physically and psychologically capable of performing safety procedures and responding to emergencies. Flight Attendants provide an unparalleled Aloha experience through attentive and pleasant customer service, including food and beverage service, in a fast-paced environment. This is a union-represented position.
Key Duties

Attend preflight briefings to review flight details and prepare the aircraft cabin.

Greet guests, assist with seating and luggage, and respond to inquiries.

Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and ensure guest compliance with safety regulations.

Direct and assist guests during emergency procedures, administer first aid, and report incidents.

Provide consistent food and beverage service and process payments for onboard purchases.

Prepare guests and the cabin for landing and assist with deplaning.

Successfully complete annual FAA-approved re-certification and maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures.

Collaborate effectively with crew members to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Meet the physical demands of flying at high altitudes and working varied schedules.

Assist ill or incapacitated passengers and fellow crew members.

Evacuate the aircraft in emergency situations, including heavy smoke or cabin fires.

Access, handle, and operate emergency equipment, including fire extinguishers and oxygen bottles.

Remove and lift emergency cabin windows weighing up to 60 pounds.

Exit the aircraft via emergency slide from a height of approximately 24.5 feet.
Required Qualifications
-
Two (2) years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry OR four (4) years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution with the general public in industries such as retail, education, health care, and/or professional services.

Vertical reach of 82 inches.

Ability to learn and maintain current knowledge and competency of emergency procedures in accordance with Hawaiian and FAA regulations.

Strong customer service skills and ability to effectively diffuse and resolve difficult customer situations.

Ability to stand for up to four to seventeen hours, performing stooping, twisting, pulling, and pushing cabin equipment as necessary.

Ability to lift 25 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.

Comfortable being in a swimming pool with a life vest during emergency training and in water during an inflight emergency.

Ability to properly secure oneself in a jump seat with a harness and expeditiously move through the cabin aisle.

Successfully complete an FAA-approved, unpaid eight (8) week intensive training program provided by Hawaiian Airlines.

Ability to serve alcohol.

Ability to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.

Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Ability to pass a tuberculosis (TB) test.

Possession of a valid passport and ability to secure applicable visas for travel to countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.

Legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.

Travel documents must remain valid throughout all phases of training and employment.

Ability to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum age of 21.

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Must present a professional image, adhering to uniform and appearance guidelines regarding body art, piercings, and hair.

Must be able to obtain and maintain authorization for unescorted access to aircraft and SIDA areas.

First year step rate: $28.96 per contract.

Additional Information
Training will be held in Honolulu and consists of eight (8) weeks of unpaid training. Applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of controlled substances. Failure to submit to testing or positive indications of drug use will render the applicant ineligible for employment.
