About the Role

Hawaiian Airlines is seeking dedicated professionals to join its team as Flight Attendants. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and comfort of guests while embodying the spirit of Hawaiian hospitality. Flight Attendants operate in a dynamic environment, requiring the ability to manage emergency situations with composure and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-flight briefings and prepare the aircraft cabin for passenger boarding and departure.
  • Greet guests, assist with seating and luggage, and respond to inquiries throughout the flight.
  • Demonstrate safety equipment and ensure guest compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manage emergency situations, including evacuations, administer first aid, and report incidents.
  • Provide in-flight food and beverage service, and process payments for onboard purchases.
  • Prepare the cabin for landing and assist with guest deplaning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures and FAA regulations, completing annual re-certification.
  • Obtain and maintain authorization for unescorted access to aircraft and SIDA areas.
  • Collaborate with crew members to ensure a seamless guest experience and maintain professionalism.
  • Effectively address guest inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Participate in emergency duties, which may include assisting incapacitated individuals, evacuating the aircraft, operating emergency equipment, and navigating emergency slides.

Qualifications

Required

  • Two (2) years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry OR four (4) years of customer contact and customer service issue resolution with the general public in industries such as retail, education, health care, and/or professional services.
  • Vertical Reach of 82 inches.
  • Ability to learn and maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures in accordance with Hawaiian and FAA regulations.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively diffuse and resolve difficult customer situations.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying climatic conditions, gravitational loads, and cabin pressurization changes.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (four to seventeen hours), involving stooping, twisting, and pulling/pushing cabin equipment.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
  • Comfortable with water-based emergency training and potential in-flight emergencies.
  • Ability to properly secure oneself in a jump seat and move expeditiously through the cabin aisle.
  • Successful completion of an FAA-approved, unpaid eight (8) week intensive training program provided by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Ability to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Successful completion of a tuberculosis (TB) test.
  • Possession of a valid passport and ability to secure applicable visas for international travel.
  • Legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
  • Travel documents must remain valid throughout training and employment.
  • Availability to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must present a professional image, with restrictions on visible body art, piercings, and extreme hair color/styles when in uniform or in public areas.

Preferred

  • College education or degree.

Training and Compensation

  • FAA Training Requirement: Eight (8) weeks of unpaid training in Honolulu.
  • First year step rate: $28.96 per hour (as per contract).
  • Starting Rate: USD $0.00/Hr. (during unpaid training period).
