About the Role
Hawaiian Airlines is seeking dedicated and service-oriented Flight Attendants to join its team. This crucial role ensures the paramount safety of guests aboard company aircraft while delivering the unparalleled Aloha experience. Successful candidates will be based on the West Coast. This position is union-represented.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preflight preparations and attend briefings to review critical flight details including weather, route, emergency procedures, and onboard services.
- Ensure the cabin is prepared and ready for guest boarding and departure.
- Welcome guests warmly, assist with seating, and help stow carry-on luggage.
- Respond to guest inquiries and provide attentive, courteous service throughout the flight.
- Deliver clear and engaging safety demonstrations, emphasizing the proper use of safety equipment.
- Monitor guest adherence to safety regulations and professionally address any non-compliance.
- Effectively manage emergency situations, including directing and assisting guests during evacuations.
- Administer first aid when necessary and accurately report all emergency or safety-related incidents.
- Provide consistent and high-quality in-flight food and beverage service in accordance with airline procedures.
- Process payments for onboard purchases accurately.
- Prepare the cabin and guests for landing, ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Secure the cabin post-flight and assist with guest deplaning.
- Successfully complete recurrent FAA-approved training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate seamlessly with crew members to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, identify and escalate potential issues, and adapt to the physical demands of flight.
- Exhibit a proactive and pleasant demeanor when addressing guest inquiries, requests, and concerns.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Customer Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of direct customer experience in the hospitality or airline industry; OR four (4) years of customer contact and issue resolution with the general public in industries such as retail, education, healthcare, or professional services.
- Language Proficiency: Ability to proficiently speak business-level Italian and read Latin script is required.
- Physical Reach: Must possess a vertical reach of 82 inches.
- Training & Competency: Must successfully complete annual FAA-approved re-certification and maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures as per Hawaiian Airlines and FAA regulations.
- Customer Service Skills: Demonstrated strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively de-escalate and resolve challenging customer situations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to withstand varying climatic conditions, gravitational loads due to turbulence, and cabin pressurization changes. Must be able to stand for extended periods (4-17 hours) involving stooping, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
- Lifting Capability: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height.
- Water Proficiency: Comfortability being in a swimming pool with a life vest during emergency training and in water during an inflight emergency.
- Mobility: Ability to properly secure oneself in a jump seat with a harness and expeditiously move through the cabin aisle in all situations.
- Training Program: Successful completion of an FAA-approved, unpaid eight (8) week intensive training program in Honolulu is mandatory.
- Alcohol Service: Ability to serve alcohol.
- Relocation: Willingness to relocate within the state of Hawaii or the continental U.S.
- English Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Health Requirements: Must successfully pass a tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Travel Documentation: Possession of a valid passport and the ability to secure applicable visas for international travel. Travel documents must remain valid throughout training and employment.
- Availability: Ability to work alternative schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Age: Minimum age of 21.
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Professional Appearance: Must present a professional image. Visible body art, facial piercings, gauges, or extreme hair color/styles are not permitted while in uniform or in public areas.

Important Information
