Position Summary:
The Flight Attendant's primary responsibility is ensuring passenger safety throughout the flight. This encompasses maintaining physical and psychological readiness to execute safety procedures and provide immediate assistance during emergencies. The role demands composure and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, requiring the ability to manage diverse passenger interactions with professionalism and attentiveness. Secondary responsibilities involve delivering exceptional customer service, including efficient and courteous food and beverage service, contributing to the overall Aloha experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend comprehensive pre-flight briefings covering weather conditions, flight routes, emergency procedures, crew coordination, flight duration, service offerings, and passenger count.
- Provide welcoming greetings, guide passengers to their assigned seats, and address flight-related inquiries.
- Assist passengers with stowing carry-on luggage.
- Demonstrate safety equipment usage (seatbelts, oxygen masks, life vests) and emergency procedures before takeoff.
- Monitor passenger adherence to safety regulations, address infractions, and effectively de-escalate challenging situations.
- Direct and assist passengers in emergency evacuations and procedures.
- Provide consistent and efficient food and beverage service.
- Process and reconcile payments for onboard purchases (alcoholic beverages, meals, duty-free items).
- Administer first aid as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive written and verbal reports on safety/emergency incidents.
- Prepare passengers and the aircraft for landing.
- Successfully complete annual FAA-approved re-certification training.
- Obtain and maintain an AOA Badge.
- Maintain current knowledge and competency of emergency procedures, adhering to Hawaiian and FAA regulations.
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain professional and effective interactions with colleagues and passengers.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to consistently deliver exceptional service.
- Proactively identify and report potential safety concerns.
- Adapt to varied climates and locations globally, working variable shifts and at high altitudes.

- Execute emergency procedures such as aircraft evacuation in smoke-filled conditions, operating emergency equipment (oxygen bottles, fire extinguishers), removing emergency cabin windows (up to 60 pounds), and using emergency slides (approximately 24.5-foot drop).
All emergency duties are essential functions of this role.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Maintains a professional appearance, adhering to guidelines regarding visible body art, piercings, and hair styling while in uniform.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Successful completion of an FAA-approved, eight-week intensive training program.
- Ability to relocate within Hawaii or the continental U.S.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to reach 82 inches vertically.
- Ability to securely sit in a jump seat with fastened seatbelt and shoulder harness.
- Successful completion of pre-employment requirements: drug testing, tuberculosis (TB) screening, and background check.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Possession of a valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas for international travel.
- Legal right to travel from all countries served by Hawaiian Airlines.
- Valid travel documents throughout training and employment.
- Ability to work in varying climatic conditions, gravitational loads, and cabin pressure levels; must be able to stand for extended periods (4-17 hours), potentially involving stooping, twisting, and moving cabin equipment.
- Current employees must be in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of direct customer experience in hospitality or the airline industry; or four years of customer service experience in other relevant fields (retail, education, healthcare, etc.).
- College education or degree.
