Aircrew Instructor, Flight Training - Join the Hawaiian Airlines 'Ohana
Hawaiian Airlines is seeking an experienced and passionate Aircrew Instructor to join their Flight Training team in Honolulu, Hawaii.
About the Role:
The Aircrew Instructor plays a vital role in developing, maintaining, and delivering engaging and effective training courses for pilots and other flight crew members. This individual will utilize their expertise to provide exceptional instruction in a variety of settings, including classroom environments and utilizing advanced flight simulators (VPT/FTD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative ground training courses for pilots, covering a wide range of topics including general subjects, pilot indoctrination, performance, and aircraft systems.
- Utilize flight training devices, such as Virtual Procedures Trainers (VPT) and Flight Training Devices (FTD), to provide realistic and effective training scenarios.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive lesson plans, instructor guides, and curriculum materials for classroom-based, home-based, and computer-based training programs.
- Manage and administer computer-based training modules, ensuring their relevance and effectiveness for the intended training objectives.
- Conduct administrative tasks, including developing and grading exams, maintaining accurate training records, and generating comprehensive training rosters.
- Collaborate with other company trainers to ensure consistent and standardized delivery of training material.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and pursue professional development opportunities to maintain a high level of instructional proficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proven experience in the aviation industry, with Part 121 experience highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated public speaking ability and experience conducting engaging classroom instruction.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and unwavering dedication to maintaining the highest standards of training quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint with a strong understanding of computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Knowledge and experience with Boeing 717, 787, Airbus A330, A321 aircraft, including type ratings.
- Familiarity with ETOPS and international flight operations.
- Experience in curriculum design and adult learning principles.
