As a Hawaiian Airlines First Officer, professionals are offered diverse opportunities to pilot a variety of aircraft across several stage lengths, each providing distinct schedules and lifestyles. The B717 fleet operates seamlessly throughout the Hawaiian Islands, allowing crew members to remain closer to home. Mid-range flights between Hawaii and the West Coast, as well as the South Pacific, are served by the A321neo aircraft. For longer domestic and international routes featuring extended layovers, the widebody A330-200s and the new B787-9 Dreamliners (joining the fleet starting early 2024) are utilized. Furthermore, a new cargo partnership allows pilots to be based on the US mainland and operate A330-300 freighters for Prime Air.

First Officer Responsibilities

First Officers are responsible for operating regularly scheduled passenger and cargo services to destinations within the United States and internationally. This role requires holding a Federal Air Transport Pilot rating and certification in the specific aircraft type flown.

The rewards structure includes a competitive base salary coupled with variable compensation opportunities. The expected pay range for this position is $87.00 per hour. Hawaiian Airlines also offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for pilots joining the ‘Ohana. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations.

As identified by DOT regulations (14 CFR part 120), this position performs safety-sensitive functions and requires pre-employment testing in accordance with Federal Regulations for specified substances. A negative test result is mandatory for employment. In addition to routine employment eligibility verification, candidates must provide documentation proving current country of citizenship and birthplace upon hire.
