Instructor Operator - Aviation Field Support

GA-SI stands as a leading expert in systems integration technologies, reliability enhancements, and controls system design. The company is seeking a skilled and experienced Instructor Operator to support General Atomics PBL US Army field operations.
This critical role is responsible for providing essential aircrew training, conducting evaluations, and supporting sustained flight operations for customer organizational units. The position requires expertise in UAV operations and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as an Instructor Operator for General Atomics PBL US Army field support, supporting customer units through aircrew training, evaluations, and sustained flight operations.
- Coordinates and actively participates in ground and flight operations, including meticulous mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety protocols.
- May remotely pilot vehicles to assess compliance with specifications and operational suitability during flight tests or demonstrations, performing specifically prescribed tests and maneuvers.
- Ensures strict adherence to service guidance, company policies and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
- Contributes to the development and verification of procedures for new aircraft features and participates in creating operational and safety procedures and training syllabus courseware.
- Operates in strict compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and obligations, maintaining a safe working manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Performs other assigned or required duties.
Job Qualifications:
- Requires educational training equivalent to a four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency, coupled with five or more years of experience in UAV operation or aviation. Equivalent professional or military experience in UAV or aviation may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
- Possesses familiarity with Army forms, records, and publications, as well as Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures and records (DCMA 8210).
- Demonstrates a detailed and comprehensive understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts.
- Accumulated at least two hundred (200) hours in a UGCS/OSGCS, including fifty (50) hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), with a UAV instructor or multiple UAV aircraft qualification.
- Must be a graduate of the DA or DES IO Course for MQ-1C Gray Eagle.
- Exhibits excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, enabling accurate and effective interaction with all levels of employees, military and civilian customers, contractors, and aircrew.
- Possesses detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications relevant to the role.
- Capable of maintaining a FAA Class II flight physical.
- Demonstrates the essential ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment, and is able to work extended hours and travel as required.
