Key Responsibilities:
The Flight Attendant is responsible for a wide range of onboard duties, including:
- Safety and Security:
- Following all Federal Aviation Regulations and Frontier Airlines policies and procedures.
- Conducting preflight safety checks of cabin emergency equipment.
- Ensuring proper loading and storage of carry-on luggage.
- Maintaining cabin safety and security throughout all phases of flight.
- Providing instruction and demonstration of onboard safety features.
- Initiating and conducting emergency evacuations if necessary.
- Customer Service:
- Providing exceptional customer service to all passengers.
- Answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting with onboard purchases.
- Providing emergency medical assistance, including CPR and basic first aid.
- Projecting a positive attitude and maintaining composure at all times.
- Operational Duties:
- Preparing and securing cabin doors.
- Announcing departure/arrival information over the PA system.
- Setting up the galley, checking supplies, and managing beverage and snack services.
- Performing tasks requiring frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 20 years old at the start of the interview process.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred.
- Valid passport and the ability to travel in and out of the United States.
- Ability to travel to all current and future international destinations served by Frontier Airlines.
- Neat, professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to Frontier Inflight uniform and appearance guidelines (including appropriate tattoo coverage).
- Willingness to relocate to assigned base location.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
- Adaptability and willingness to accept schedule changes on short notice.
- Ability to fly both international and domestic routes.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Fluency in reading, speaking, writing, and communicating in English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and reassure passengers in a hurried and stressful environment.
- Ability to work independently as a leader and as a team member.
- Physical strength to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Ability to sit and be secured with seatbelt and shoulder harness in all jump seats without extensions.
Work Environment:
- Varying climate conditions, air turbulence, changing locations, variable hours, dry air, noise levels, dim lighting, and confined spaces.
- Fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Work shifts/hours vary including days, weekends, evenings, red-eyes, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent repetitive motions, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining those positions for extended periods of time.
- 20/20 (or "sufficient") vision and hearing.
- Ability to hear, interpret, and respond to onboard chime systems, call buttons, announcements, and directions over interphone and public address systems.
- Ability to stand throughout most of the work shift.
- Ability to perform in-flight duties while in a pressurized cabin for extended periods of time.
- Possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits.
- Ability to operate door and window exits in manual and emergency modes.
- Ability to push/pull/move a galley cart weighing 100 lbs.
- Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 lbs occasionally and/or up to 35 lbs frequently.
- Ability to lift a 35 lb luggage piece from the floor to a passenger seat and from the seat to an overhead compartment.
- Ability to reach into overhead compartments with a height of 67 inches and depth of 28 inches.
- Ability to be properly secured in the cabin jumpseat by the safety belt and shoulder harness without extensions.
- Ability to balance and reach across seats to serve passengers.
Supervision:
The Flight Attendant typically receives general instructions on new assignments but little instruction on day-to-day work.
Compensation:
$25.50 per hour.
