Position Summary
The Inflight Instructor plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism within Frontier Airlines' flight attendant workforce. This position is responsible for conducting FAA and DOT-regulated initial, recurrent, and requalification training, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee flight attendant trainees during initial training, including performance assessment, management, counseling, coaching, and termination when necessary.
- Develop, produce, and disseminate annual recurrent computer-based training.
- Support line trainers as required.
- Conduct needs analysis, design, develop, and produce training curriculum and materials to meet FAA requirements and corporate objectives.
- Maintain qualification as a Frontier Airlines Flight Attendant.
- Supervise Inflight contract trainers and facilitators during training periods.
- Assist with writing and revising the Flight Attendant Manual.
- Contribute to special projects and committees.
- Provide constructive feedback to management and the flight attendant training team regarding personnel-related activities of training participants.
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities, participants, and results.
- Collaborate with the department manager to monitor and coordinate correspondence with the FAA.
- Coordinate the completion of all forms related to flight attendant training.
- Respond to flight attendant inquiries via phone and email.
- Plan, schedule, and prepare for flight attendant training, including room setup and cleanup.
- Collaborate with other training departments as needed.
- Assist other departmental trainers and the department manager as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a leadership role required.
- One year of experience as a line flight attendant required.
- Professional experience in teaching, training, or adult education preferred.
- One year of experience in a FAR 121 program required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current knowledge of the Airbus aircraft.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects and priorities.
- Superior instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills to large groups.
- Proven ability in the evaluation, creation, design, and implementation of curriculum and supporting materials.
- Knowledge of conducting training needs assessments for different client groups.
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Computer competency in word processing, Excel database software, graphics, desktop publishing, and PowerPoint.
- Project management abilities, including production and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the instructor group.
Working Conditions
- The position requires working in various environments, including a normal office, classroom, outdoors, airport, on aircraft, and other offsite facilities.
- The schedule may include travel, extended work hours (early mornings and late nights), and adherence to Denver station operations, in accordance with station operational hours and hangar hours.
- The incumbent must be willing to work on the aircraft as a regular crewmember and for IOE training and proficiency checks.
Physical Requirements
- Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
Compensation
Salary: $58,394 - 77,508
