Position Summary
The Flight Attendant (FA) is integral to ensuring the well-being, safety, security, and comfort of passengers onboard Frontier Airlines aircraft. This role provides a high level of excellent customer service, engaging with passengers to address inquiries, resolve concerns, and offer onboard products. Flight Attendants rigorously adhere to established FAA and Frontier guidelines, providing for passenger safety and comfort, and are trained to respond effectively to inflight emergencies and security concerns should they arise.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant performs a wide range of critical duties, including but not limited to:
- Adhering to all Federal Aviation Regulations and established Frontier Airlines policies and procedures.
- Initiating and conducting emergency cabin evacuations when necessary.
- Performing pre-flight safety checks of all cabin emergency equipment.
- Ensuring proper loading and secure stowage of carry-on luggage before and during flight.
- Maintaining cabin safety and security throughout all phases of flight, including boarding and deplaning.
- Preparing and securing aircraft doors and delivering departure/arrival information to passengers via the public address system.
- Providing clear instruction and demonstration of onboard safety features.
- Setting up the galley, checking supplies, stowing beverage and snack carts, and verifying inventory counts.
- Conducting sales of snacks and beverages (including alcohol), collecting and stowing all service items inflight and prior to landing, and informing passengers of available onboard products.
- Providing emergency medical assistance, including performing CPR and basic first aid.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and professional composure at all times.
- Performing tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, reaching above shoulder level, and reaching into overhead bins for item retrieval or stowage.
- Demonstrating dependability and commitment to completing work assignments in accordance with Frontier Airlines policies.
- Maintaining a professional appearance and strict compliance with uniform and appearance guidelines while in public view (e.g., during commute, pre-flight activities, and flight operations).
- Participating in and complying with all DOT, FAA, and Frontier Airlines’ regulations concerning drug and alcohol compliance for safety-sensitive transportation employees.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 20 years of age to commence the interview process.
- Possession of a valid passport, with the ability to travel both into and out of the United States, and to all current and future international destinations served by Frontier Airlines.
- Ability to present a neat, professional appearance and demeanor, strictly adhering to Frontier Inflight uniform and appearance guidelines.
- Willingness to relocate to an assigned base location.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Readiness to travel for extended periods as an inherent part of the job.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet job demands, including accepting schedule changes on short notice.
- Willingness to fly both international and domestic routes.
Preferred:
- 1 to 2 years of customer service experience.
Appearance Guidelines (Tattoo Policy):
The normal duties of a Flight Attendant involve stretching, reaching, and bending. During these movements, tattoos must not be exposed, even briefly. If a Flight Attendant has a tattoo that may become briefly exposed during the normal course of duties (e.g., on the forearm, wrist, leg, or ankle), makeup may be used to cover it. Makeup must match the Flight Attendant’s skin tone, be applied conservatively (e.g., no “caking” or “flaking”), and be waterproof to prevent transfer to the uniform. Makeup is permitted only for tattoos primarily covered by a uniform garment but with potential for brief exposure. Tattoos are not permitted on the hands or anywhere above the collar bone (e.g., neck, face, behind the ear). All other tattoos must remain entirely out of sight and may not be covered with bandages or compression sleeves when in uniform.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and reassure passengers in fast-paced and stressful environments.
- Capability to work both independently as a leader and collaboratively as a team member among colleagues and passengers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently.
- Ability to sit in and be securely fastened by a seatbelt and shoulder harness in all jump seats without requiring a seatbelt extension, harness extender, or modification of the jump seat’s integrity.
Equipment Operated
Equipment includes, but is not limited to: beverage/snack carts, galley equipment, POS devices/systems, flight stairs, aircraft cabin equipment including doors, and emergency equipment.
Work Environment
The working environment is dynamic and subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, changing locations, variable hours, dry air, noise levels from engines and other equipment, dim lighting, and confined spaces. Work is typically fast-paced and physically demanding, with shifts and hours varying to include days, weekends, evenings, red-eyes, and holidays.
Physical Effort
The position requires significant physical effort, including:
- Frequent repetitive motions, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining those positions for extended periods.
- Maintaining 20/20 (or “sufficient”) vision and hearing to safely perform all essential functions.
- Ability to hear, interpret, and respond to onboard chime systems, call buttons, and announcements or directions delivered via interphone and public address system.
- Ability to stand throughout most of the work shift.
- Performing in-flight duties within a pressurized cabin for extended periods.
- Possessing the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits.
- Operating door and window exits in both manual and emergency modes (including lifting the 33 lb window exit and overcoming door “emergency mode” resistance).
- Pushing/pulling/moving a galley cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Moderate physical activity, handling objects up to 50 lbs occasionally and/or up to 35 lbs frequently.
- Ability to lift a 35 lb luggage piece (occasionally, bags heavier than 50 lbs) from the floor to 33 inches (e.g., floor to passenger seat) AND from 33 inches to 67 inches (e.g., passenger seat to overhead compartment).
- Ability to reach into overhead compartments with a height of 67 inches and depth of 28 inches.
- Ability to be properly secured in the cabin jumpseat by the safety belt and shoulder harness without the use of seatbelt extensions.
- Ability to balance and reach across seats to serve passengers.
Supervision Received
The incumbent typically receives minimal instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
