The Opportunity: Flight Attendant

The Flight Attendant serves as a critical frontline professional, instrumental in ensuring the safety, security, well-being, and comfort of all passengers onboard Frontier Airlines aircraft. This role encompasses a broad range of customer service responsibilities, including addressing passenger inquiries, resolving concerns, and facilitating onboard sales. A paramount aspect of the position involves strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Frontier Airlines guidelines, particularly in emergency and security protocols, guaranteeing the highest standards of in-flight safety and service excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures strict compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established Frontier Airlines policies and procedures.
  • Conducts comprehensive pre-flight safety checks of cabin emergency equipment and ensures proper loading and secure storage of carry-on luggage throughout all flight phases.
  • Initiates and effectively manages emergency cabin evacuations when necessary.
  • Maintains cabin safety and security during all phases of flight, including boarding, deplaning, and in-flight operations.
  • Prepares and secures aircraft doors, delivering clear departure and arrival information to passengers via the Public Address (PA) system.
  • Provides essential instruction and demonstration of onboard safety features to passengers.
  • Manages galley setup, supply checks, stowing of beverage and snack carts, and accurate inventory verification.
  • Facilitates onboard sales of snacks and beverages (including alcoholic items), manages collection and stowing of service items, and informs passengers about all available onboard products.
  • Provides essential emergency medical assistance, including CPR and basic first aid, as required.
  • Maintains a consistently positive attitude and professional composure, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Performs physical tasks requiring frequent walking, bending to ankle level, and reaching above shoulder level, including accessing overhead bins.
  • Demonstrates unwavering dependability and commitment to completing all work assignments in accordance with Frontier Airlines policies.
  • Adheres to professional appearance standards and complies with all uniform and appearance guidelines while in public view, during commute, and throughout flight operations.
  • Complies fully with all Department of Transportation (DOT), FAA, and Frontier Airlines regulations concerning drug and alcohol compliance for safety-sensitive transportation employees.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum age of 20 years to commence the interview process.
  • 1 to 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid passport is mandatory, with the ability to travel internationally to all current and future destinations served by Frontier Airlines.
  • A neat, professional appearance and demeanor are essential, with strict adherence to Frontier Inflight uniform and appearance guidelines. All tattoos must remain covered while in public view and in uniform. Tattoos on hands or above the collarbone are not permitted.
  • Willingness to relocate to an assigned base location (Cincinnati, OH).
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as operational needs dictate.
  • Preparedness for extended periods of travel as part of the job requirements.
  • Adaptability to dynamic operational changes, including accepting schedule adjustments on short notice.
  • Willingness to fly both international and domestic routes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in reading, speaking, and writing English is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and reassure passengers in fast-paced or stressful environments.
  • Capacity to work both independently as a leader and collaboratively as a team member among colleagues and passengers.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to sit securely in all jump seats, utilizing standard seatbelts and shoulder harnesses without extensions or modifications.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The Flight Attendant role operates within a dynamic and frequently demanding environment, subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, changing locations, and irregular work hours. This includes exposure to dry air, engine noise, dim lighting, and confined spaces within the aircraft cabin. Work shifts are variable, encompassing days, weekends, evenings, red-eye flights, and holidays.

Significant physical activity is required, including:

  • Frequent repetitive motions, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining these positions for extended periods.
  • Possession of 20/20 (or functionally sufficient) vision and hearing to safely execute all essential job functions.
  • Ability to hear, interpret, and respond promptly to onboard chime systems, call buttons, and announcements or directions via interphone and public address systems.
  • Capacity to stand for the majority of the work shift.
  • Ability to perform in-flight duties within a pressurized cabin for extended durations.
  • Possession of physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, including operating door and window exits in both manual and emergency modes (which may involve significant resistance, e.g., 33 lb window exit).
  • Capability to push/pull/move a galley cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to lift luggage weighing up to 35 lbs frequently (and occasionally bags heavier than 50 lbs) from the floor to 33 inches (e.g., passenger seat height) and from 33 inches to 67 inches (e.g., overhead compartment height).
  • Ability to reach into overhead compartments with dimensions of 67 inches height and 28 inches depth.
  • Ability to maintain balance and reach across seats to serve passengers effectively.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $25.50 per hour.
