Pilot Instructor - KC-46 (Part-Time)

Position Overview
The Pilot Instructor plays a critical role in delivering exceptional simulator-based training to U.S. Air Force and Allied Nation KC-46 pilots participating in Quarterly Refresher training. This encompasses pre-briefings, debriefings, and comprehensive instruction within a state-of-the-art Weapon System Trainer (WST) environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute Quarterly Refresher training programs utilizing a variety of training mediums including classrooms, Computer-Based Training (CBT), WST, and the KC-46 aircraft.
- Deliver ground-based training to Aircrew Members on tanker and receiver operating procedures, including identifying and addressing individual student learning needs.
- Conduct Initial and Recurring training for Maintenance Personnel enrolled in Engine Run courses.
- Provide insightful briefings, debriefings, and personalized counseling sessions to Aircrew Members and Maintenance Personnel to cultivate and sustain peak technical proficiency.
- Extract, analyze, and interpret student performance data to prepare and facilitate impactful student review sessions.
- Act as a dedicated KC-46 Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing guidance and support to students and relevant personnel.
- Uphold the highest standards of instruction, knowledge, and professional expertise.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of KC-46 aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge and application of instructional principles and theories within the context of aircrew training. Contribute to courseware development by providing recommendations for corrections, modifications, and updates to training policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance with additional projects and developmental initiatives as needed.
- Proficiently operate the Student Management System.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of four years of relevant education and experience in addition to the experience requirements outlined below.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience within the last 5 years as either a qualified Tanker Air-to-Air Refueling (AAR) Pilot Flight Instructor or a Tanker AAR Aircrew Training System (ATS) Pilot Instructor. Candidates must possess a minimum of 200 flying hours in U.S. Air Force or Allied Nation aircraft, or equivalent flight simulator experience, with at least 50% of those hours acquired in actual aircraft. Prior Receiver AAR Instructor experience is highly desirable. A B-767 type rating is preferred.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Proven ability to effectively mentor and guide individuals towards achieving program objectives.
- Fluency in English, encompassing exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide timely and effective remediation to students, identifying and implementing alternative learning strategies as required.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete an annual internal standardization evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
The role demands prolonged periods of sitting, extensive use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks, reaching with arms, and frequent verbal communication. The ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds is occasionally required. The position requires close and distance visual acuity with the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is typically characterized by moderate noise levels.
