The Role

The First Officer plays a vital role in the flight crew, operating the A320 aircraft safely and efficiently in strict compliance with all regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Captain's instructions. Key responsibilities include:

Conducting flights according to the current flight plan and SOPs, ensuring seamless execution of the Captain's directives when not at the controls, and promptly notifying the Captain of any changes upon their return.
Providing comprehensive assistance to the Captain with any administrative duties related to the flight operation as required.
Maintaining the safe navigation of the aircraft through continuous and independent checks of geographical position, ensuring adequate terrain and weather clearance at all times.
Upholding the highest personal standards of discipline, professional conduct, and appearance, representing Etihad Airways with distinction at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

Prospective First Officers must meet the following essential criteria:

A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
A minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with an FMS coupled to APFDS), or high-performance military jet aircraft.
A minimum of 500 hours on an aircraft within the A320 Family.
Must have recent flying experience on any Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft within the last 12 months.
Hold a valid A320 Type Rating, which must be valid for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining Etihad Airways.
Possess a current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL license. Frozen ATPL is not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
Must be current on the A320 aircraft type.
Hold a current, unrestricted Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Maximum age limit for application is 50 years.
Demonstrate English Language Fluency (written and verbal) at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
Note: For hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.

Remuneration and Benefits

This package comprises a basic salary, flying pay, a comprehensive housing allowance to facilitate finding suitable accommodation, and allowances for layovers and meals. Based on an average of 75 flying hours per month, the potential annual tax-free earnings can reach up to 513,732 AED (equivalent to approximately 138,318 USD). Annual salary increments are provided based on performance.
