The Role

As a First Officer, you will serve as an integral member of the flight deck team, supporting the Captain to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of every flight. Candidates are expected to uphold high standards of professionalism and technical proficiency while developing leadership capabilities for future command.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Captain with flight preparation, navigation, and operation in compliance with all regulatory standards and company procedures.
  • Conduct continuous, independent monitoring of aircraft position, terrain, and weather to ensure safe navigation.
  • Facilitate effective communication and provide support to the Captain to ensure safe and efficient decision-making.
  • Represent Etihad Airways with high standards of discipline and conduct.
  • Assume command in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with company procedures.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for the First Officer A320 (Non-type Rated) position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 2,500 hours total flying time.
  • Minimum of 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit multi-pilot aircraft (MPA). *Glass cockpit is defined as aircraft with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to an Autopilot Flight Director System (APFDS).
  • Unrestricted ATPL or valid frozen ATPL issued by an ICAO member state. *Holders of frozen ATPL (CPL) must present results of the ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Exam and an integrated ATPL course completion certificate.
  • Must possess an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical.
  • Must not have attained the age of 50 on the date of joining.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English (ICAO Level 4 or higher).

Compensation and Benefits
