Key Responsibilities
The First Officer performs duties as assigned by the Captain and supports the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting flights in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Captain's instructions when at the controls. Notifying the Captain of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions, or geographical position upon their return to the controls.
- Assisting the Captain with any administrative duties related to the flight as requested.
- Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining continuous and independent checks on the geographical position, ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Maintaining high personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the airline at all times.
Qualifications
To be considered for the position of First Officer on the A320 fleet, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 2500 total flying hours.
- A minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with an FMS coupled to APFDS) or high-performance military jets.
- At least 500 hours accumulated on the Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
- Must have flown any Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft within the last 12 months.
- A valid A320 type rating is required and must remain valid for a minimum of 2 months at the anticipated date of joining.
- Possession of a current and unrestricted ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Must be currently type-rated and current on the A320.
- Possession of an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit for applicants is 50 years old.
- Demonstrated English Language Fluency (written and verbal) equivalent to ICAO Level 4 or higher.
- For flight hours accumulated with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
