First Officer Position - Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways seeks a highly skilled and experienced First Officer to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of its flights. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, acting as Commander in their absence. This role demands a commitment to professional conduct, adherence to Etihad's operational manuals and procedures, and collaborative teamwork with the Commander.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Etihad's Operations Manual and apply this knowledge to all duties.
- Assist the Commander with flight-related administrative tasks as required.
- Support the Commander in upholding high standards of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Execute flight duties as assigned by the Commander, ensuring compliance with Etihad's operating policies and procedures.
- Independently monitor the aircraft's geographical position, confirming safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conduct the flight according to the approved flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions (when the Commander is not at the controls). Immediately inform the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications, or geographical position upon their return to the flight deck.
- Proactively provide advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to ensure the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintain the highest personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways.
- Assume command in the event of Commander incapacitation, if designated as the highest-ranking Co-Pilot.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to an autopilot flight director system (APFDS)) or high-performance military jet aircraft.
- 500 hours on an A320 Family aircraft within the last 3 years; current experience flying an Airbus fly-by-wire (FBW) type is mandatory.
- Valid A320 type rating for a minimum of 2 months at the time of employment.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen).
- Current on A320 operations.
- Current and unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) – Level 4 or better.
- For flight hours accumulated with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the minimum requirements.
Salary & Benefits:
- Fixed monthly salary: AED 26,000.
- Flight Duty Allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour
- 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour
- Meal Allowance during layovers:
- Middle East/GCC/Subcontinent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance: Up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance: AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education (up to 3 children).
