Aviation Professional: First Officer - Airbus A320

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated aviation professional to join a leading international airline. The First Officer is a critical member of the flight crew, working collaboratively with the Commander to ensure safe and efficient flight operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional professionalism, strong technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Key Responsibilities:

The First Officer is accountable for the following duties, among others:

  • Ensures the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo under their direct responsibility, and assumes command in the absence of the Commander.
  • Maintains an in-depth familiarity with the airline's Operations Manual to perform all duties professionally and safely.
  • Provides assistance to the Commander regarding administrative duties related to the flight.
  • Supports the Commander in maintaining a high standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
  • Executes all flight duties assigned by the Commander, adhering to the airline's operating policies and procedures.
  • Independently confirms the aircraft's safe navigation, continuously monitoring geographical position and ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
  • Conducts the flight in accordance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Commander's instructions when not at the controls, and promptly notifies the Commander of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions, or geographical position upon return.
  • Offers proactive advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to contribute to the safe and efficient execution of the flight.
  • Maintains a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance at all times, as a representative of the airline.
  • Assumes command in the event of Commander incapacitation, with the highest ranking Co-Pilot designated for the flight.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit aircraft (with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to an Auto Pilot Flight Director System (APFDS)), or high-performance military jet.
  • 500 hours on the Airbus A320 family within the last three years, and current operation on an Airbus Fly-By-Wire (FBW) type aircraft.
  • A valid A320 type rating with a minimum of two months validity at the time of joining.
  • A current and unrestricted ICAO Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL). Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
  • Current operational status on the A320 aircraft.
  • A current and unrestricted Class 1 medical certificate.
  • A maximum age of 50 years.
  • English language proficiency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or better.
  • When flight time is accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the minimum requirements.

Compensation and Benefits:

The airline provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Fixed monthly salary of AED 26,000.
  • Flight duty allowance, calculated per block hour, as follows:
    • 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour.
    • 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour.
  • Meal allowance during layovers at the following hourly rates:
    • Middle East/GCC/Subcontinent: AED 12
    • Asia/Far East: AED 15
    • Africa/Australasia: AED 18
    • Europe/Americas: AED 23
  • Annual housing allowance up to AED 160,000.
  • Education allowance of AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education for up to three children.
