Job Overview

Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest and most dynamic airline, presents an exceptional opportunity for highly skilled A320 Type-rated Foreign/Expat Pilots. The airline is actively seeking experienced Captains to join its growing Pilots team on a fixed-term contract basis, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of its fleet.

This prestigious role is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and a passion for aviation.

Contract Details

  • Contract Duration: A fixed period of 15 months, with renewal contingent upon mutual agreement for further terms.
  • The initial contract period includes approximately three months of comprehensive training, followed by twelve months of active flying duties.

Role and Responsibilities

The A320 Captain holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flights. This role demands exemplary leadership, meticulous adherence to operational standards, and decisive action in all scenarios.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct assigned flights strictly in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Airline Operational Manual and all relevant civil aviation authority regulations.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency are maintained throughout all operated flights.
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to flight and cabin crew, managing emergencies and ad-hoc situations with professional expertise.
  • Maintain ultimate command of the flight, ensuring successful performance and upholding the positive corporate image of Fly Jinnah.
  • Consult with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations on any non-routine or critical action prior to execution.
  • Perform all duties through established channels and in strict adherence to adopted policies and procedures.

Operational Duties:

  • Command assigned aircraft, executing flights in strict accordance with given schedules and approved flight plans, bearing ultimate responsibility for the aircraft throughout all operations.
  • Ensure all assigned flights adhere to the detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulatory requirements, consistently implementing, monitoring, and maintaining procedures for safe and smooth aircraft operation.
  • Verify the timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legality of self and flight crew for all assigned duties.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight briefings to communicate flight details and ensure all crew members are fully informed prior to each action, following adopted procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with First Officers, Second Officers, and the Dispatch Team before each flight, ensuring all flight and cabin crew members are comprehensively prepared and equipped with essential information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather updates, fuel considerations, weight and balance, and clear distribution of roles.
  • Operate the aircraft with optimal fuel efficiency throughout the flight, strictly adhering to safety constraints outlined in the Airline’s Operations Manual.
  • Oversee the meticulous execution of all necessary safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by assigned flight and cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight.
  • Take decisive action and provide clear direction to the crew in response to safety or security irregularities, escalating situations as required.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages):

  • Possession of an appropriate ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) is mandatory.
  • Successful completion of the technical and psychometric assessments for pilots, adhering to both airline and respective civil aviation authority standards, is required.
  • A passing grade on the medical fitness check-up for pilots, in accordance with airline and civil aviation authority standards, is essential.
  • Essential training in safety and emergency response is required, with a formal qualification considered an advantage.
  • Training in basic airport and security procedures and regulations is advantageous.
  • Crew Resources Management (CRM) training is also considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flying experience on aircraft is required.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 800 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on the Airbus A320.
  • Demonstrated acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
  • Proven exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
  • Ability to effectively implement policies, procedures, and manuals in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
  • The successful candidate will be cost-oriented, possessing effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exhibits high accuracy and meticulous attention to both results and details.

Compensation & Benefits

Remuneration Structure:

  • During Initial Training (Until Final Line Check): A net monthly salary of AED 20,199 (approximately US$5,500) will be provided, pro-rated for partial months, in addition to a daily per diem.
  • After Training / Final Line Check (For Up to 60 Block Hours/Month): The net monthly salary will be AED 27,544 (approximately US$7,500), plus a daily per diem.
  • Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours/Month: Additional compensation will be provided at a rate of AED 404 (approximately US$110) per block hour.
  • Per Diem: A per diem of AED 184 (approximately US$50) per day, averaging US$1,500 per month, is allocated for food and miscellaneous expenses.

Additional Benefits:

  • Accommodation: Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at both the base of operation and all layover stations for the entire contract duration. This includes complimentary personal laundry services for up to four pieces of clothing per day at the hotel.
  • Transportation: Ground transportation will be provided between accommodation and airports/office for all rostered flight duties.
  • Travel:
    • The company shall arrange and pay for economy class tickets for the commencement and conclusion of the contract, with a baggage allowance of up to 50 kg.
    • Unlimited standby tickets across the Air Arabia group network will be provided during the contract period.
    • Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after six months of service.
  • Uniforms & Laundry: Uniforms and a dedicated laundry service will be provided for the entire contract duration.
  • Roster & Leave:
    • Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
    • Paid vacation is granted following successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, and upon commencement of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
    • Monthly paid vacation days will be combined with rostered off days, ensuring a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days per month.
