A320 Captain / Expat Pilot

We invite qualified professionals to join our esteemed flight crew on a fixed-term contract, contributing to our commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellence in aviation.
Contract Specification
This opportunity is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals. The contract entails an initial 15-month fixed period, with potential for renewal upon mutual agreement. The structure includes approximately three months of intensive initial training, followed by twelve months of dedicated flying duties.
Key Responsibilities of an A320 Captain
The A320 Captain is entrusted with the ultimate authority and responsibility for the aircraft's safe and efficient operation during all assigned flights. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing all assigned flights strictly in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Airline Operational Manual and applicable civil aviation authority regulations.
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency are maintained throughout all flight operations.
- Providing strong leadership and guidance to the flight and cabin crew, effectively managing emergencies, and handling ad-hoc scenarios with decisive control to ensure successful performance and uphold the corporate image.
- Consulting with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations on any non-routine or critical actions prior to execution, ensuring all duties are performed through proper channels and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Piloting the assigned aircraft between destinations according to scheduled itineraries and approved flight plans.
- Consistently implementing, monitoring, and maintaining all necessary procedures to guarantee the safe and smooth operation of the aircraft.
- Ensuring personal readiness, including timely attendance, impeccable grooming, physical fitness, and compliance with all legal requirements for self and the flight crew prior to assigned flights.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight briefings to ensure all crew members are fully informed of flight details, and maintaining continuous briefing protocols as per adopted procedures throughout operations.
- Collaborating closely with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure flight and cabin crew members are well-prepared and equipped with essential information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and role assignments.
- Optimizing fuel efficiency during flight, strictly within the safety constraints detailed in the Airline's Operations Manual.
- Overseeing the execution of all required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by assigned Flight/Cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight. Taking immediate action and directing the crew on appropriate responses to safety or security irregularities, and escalating issues as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Academic, Training, and Languages
- Possession of an appropriate Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is mandatory.
- Successful completion of technical and psychometric assessments for Pilots, adhering to both airline and respective civil aviation authority standards, is required.
- Successful completion of a medical fitness check-up for Pilots, in accordance with airline and respective civil aviation authority standards, is required.
- Demonstrated training in safety and emergency response is essential; a formal qualification in this area is considered an advantage.
- Training in basic airport and security procedures and regulations is an advantage.
- Completion of Crew Resources Management (CRM) Training is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 4000 total flying hours is required.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on the Airbus A320 aircraft type is essential.
- Possesses comprehensive and acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Demonstrates exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
- Capable of effectively implementing policies, procedures, and manuals in compliance with approved standards and regulations.
- Exhibits a cost-oriented mindset, coupled with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Maintains a high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to both overall results and specific details.
Compensation and Benefits
Monthly Salary During Initial Training
- During the initial training period, until the successful completion of the Final Line Check, a net monthly salary of AED 20,199 (equivalent to US$5,500) will be provided, pro-rated for partial months, in addition to a daily Per Diem.
Monthly Salary After Training / Final Line Check (Up to 60 Block Hours)
- Upon successful completion of training and the Final Line Check, a net monthly salary of AED 27,544 (equivalent to US$7,500) will be provided for up to 60 block hours per month, plus a daily Per Diem.
Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours
- For every block hour flown above the monthly threshold of 60 hours, an additional payment of AED 404 (equivalent to US$110) will be compensated.
Per Diem
- A daily Per Diem of AED 184 (equivalent to US$50) will be provided, averaging approximately US$1,500 per month, to cover food and other miscellaneous expenses.
Accommodation
Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at the base of operation and all layover stations for the entire contract duration. Additionally, personal laundry service for four pieces of clothing per day at the hotel will be included.
Transportation
- Suitable ground transportation will be arranged from the provided accommodation to and from Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel
- The company will cover the cost of economy class tickets at both the commencement and conclusion of the contract, including up to 50 kilograms of baggage allowance.
- Unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network will be available throughout the contract period.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after six months of service.
Uniforms / Laundry
- Uniforms and comprehensive laundry service will be provided for the duration of the contract.
Roster & Day Off
- Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at a rate of 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, and upon the commencement of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Paid vacation days will be combined with rostered OFF days each month, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
