A320 Type-Rated Captain - Fixed-Term Contract
Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest airline and a group company, presents an exciting opportunity for experienced aviation professionals. The airline is actively seeking skilled A320 Type-Rated Captains to join its dynamic team on a fixed-term contract basis. This position is open exclusively to eligible foreign nationals.
Contract Specifics:
- Contract Duration: A fixed period of 15 months. The contract is renewable for a further period upon mutual agreement.
- Structure: Approximately 3 months of initial training, followed by 12 months of flying duties.
Key Responsibilities:
The A320 Captain is responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The role demands upholding ultimate safety, security, and efficiency throughout all operations. The Captain supports and guides the flight and cabin crew, effectively manages emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios, and maintains control of the flight to ensure successful performance and a positive corporate image. Consultation with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations is required for any non-routine or critical actions prior to execution, ensuring all duties are performed through proper channels and in compliance with adopted policies and procedures.
Specific duties include:
- Operating assigned aircraft from one destination to another according to given schedules and approved flight plans, assuming ultimate responsibility for the aircraft during assigned flights.
- Ensuring all assigned flights adhere to the detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulations, continuously implementing, monitoring, and maintaining necessary procedures for safe and smooth operations.
- Ensuring timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legality of self and the entire Flight Crew for assigned flights. Conducting pre-flight briefings to ensure crew members are informed of flight details and continuously ensuring proper briefing before each action as per adopted procedures.
- Liaising with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure flight and cabin crew members are well-prepared and provided with essential information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel, weight, and distribution of roles.
- Ensuring the aircraft is flown with the most efficient and effective use of fuel during the flight, within the safety constraints detailed in the Airline’s Operations Manual.
- Overseeing required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks conducted by assigned Flight and Cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight. Taking necessary action and directing the crew's response in case of safety or security irregularities, and deciding on escalations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an appropriate ATPL License is mandatory.
- Must successfully pass technical and psychometric assessments for Pilots as per airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
- Must successfully pass the Medical Fitness check-up for Pilots as per airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
- Training in safety and emergency response is essential, with a formal qualification considered an advantage.
- Basic Airport, security procedures, and regulations training is an advantage.
- Crew Resource Management Training is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 4000 hours of total flying time is required.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the Airbus A320 aircraft type is required.
- Must possess acceptable industry knowledge in aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Experience or exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices related to Flight Operations is beneficial.
- Capability in implementing policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations.
- The ideal candidate is cost-oriented, possesses effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, and demonstrates high accuracy and attention to both results and details.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Monthly Salary During Initial Training: AED 20,199 (equivalent to approximately US$5,500) net per month, pro-rated for partial months, plus Per Diem. This rate applies during the training period until the Final Line Check.
- Monthly Salary Post-Training: AED 27,544 (equivalent to approximately US$7,500) net per month, plus Per Diem, for up to 60 block hours per month.
- Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours: Additional flying hours above 60 in a month will be compensated at AED 404 (equivalent to approximately US$110) per block hour.
- Per Diem: AED 184 (equivalent to approximately US$50) per day, averaging approximately US$1,500 per month, provided for food and other miscellaneous expenses.
- Accommodation: Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at the base of operation and layover stations for the full duration of the contract. Personal laundry service (4 pieces per day) at the hotel is also included.
- Transportation: Suitable ground transportation will be provided from accommodation to and from Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
- Travel: Economy class tickets will be arranged and paid for by the company at the commencement and end of the contract, including up to 50 kilos of baggage allowance. Unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network are available during the contract period. Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after the completion of 6 months of service.
- Uniforms / Laundry: Uniforms and laundry service for uniforms will be provided for the duration of the contract.
- Roster & Days Off: Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month. Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release, and upon the start of regular rostered flying duties. Paid vacation days are combined with rostered OFF days each month, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
