Position Overview
Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest and rapidly growing airline, is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced A320 Type-rated Foreign/Expat Pilots to join its dynamic flight operations team. This presents an exceptional opportunity for qualified aviation professionals to contribute to a thriving airline on a fixed-term contract basis. This opportunity is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals.
Contract Specification
- The initial contract term is for a fixed period of 15 months, with the potential for renewal based on mutual agreement.
- The contract includes an approximate 3-month initial training phase, followed by 12 months of active flying duties.
Key Responsibilities
The A320 Type-rated Expat Pilot will be responsible for ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flights. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely and efficiently conducting assigned flights in strict adherence to the Airline Operational Manual and all relevant civil aviation authority regulations.
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency are maintained throughout all flights.
- Providing effective leadership and guidance to flight and cabin crew, expertly managing emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios to ensure successful flight performance and uphold the airline's positive corporate image.
- Consulting with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations regarding any non-routine or critical actions prior to execution, ensuring all duties are performed through proper channels and in compliance with adopted policies and procedures.
- Serving as the ultimate authority and responsible person for the aircraft during assigned flights, operating from destination to destination according to schedules and approved flight plans.
- Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining all necessary procedures to ensure the safe, smooth, and compliant operation of the aircraft as detailed in the Airline's Operations Manual and aviation regulations.
- Verifying the timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legal compliance of self and the flight crew for all assigned flights.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight briefings and ensuring all subsequent briefings are properly executed as per standard operating procedures.
- Effectively liaising with First Officers, Second Officers, and the Dispatch Team prior to each flight to ensure all crew members are fully prepared and informed on critical flight details, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight and balance, and clear distribution of roles.
- Optimizing fuel efficiency and effectiveness during flights, always operating within established safety constraints outlined in the Airline's Operations Manual.
- Overseeing and confirming that all required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are diligently performed by assigned flight and cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight.
- Taking decisive action and providing clear direction to the crew in response to safety or security irregularities, escalating issues as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
Academic, Training, and Languages
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is mandatory.
- Successful completion of the airline's technical and psychometric assessments for pilots, in accordance with the airline and civil aviation authority standards, is required.
- Must pass the mandated medical fitness check-up for pilots as per airline and civil aviation authority standards.
- Essential training in safety and emergency response; a formal qualification is advantageous.
- Basic training in airport and security procedures and regulations is an advantage.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) training is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.
Work Experience and Competencies
- A minimum of 4,000 total flying hours on aircraft is required.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the Airbus A320 is mandatory.
- Demonstrated acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Proven exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
- Ability to effectively implement policies, procedures, and manuals in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
- Possesses a cost-oriented mindset, coupled with strong problem-solving and decisive decision-making skills.
- Exhibits high accuracy and meticulous attention to both operational results and critical details.
Compensation and Benefits
Monthly Salary Structure (Net Salary)
- During Initial Training (Until Final Line Check): AED 20,199 (Equivalent to US$5,500) per month (pro-rated for part of the month), plus Per Diem.
- After Training / Final Line Check (For up to 60 Block hours per month): AED 27,544 (Equivalent to US$7,500) per month, plus Per Diem.
- Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours: Every block hour above 60 in a month will be compensated at AED 404 (Equivalent to US$110).
Per Diem
- AED 184 (Equivalent to US$50) per day, contributing to an average of US$1,500 per month, paid towards food and other miscellaneous expenses.
Accommodation
Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at the base of operation and layover stations for the full duration of the contract. This includes personal laundry service (4 pieces of clothing per day) at the hotel.
Transportation
- Suitable ground transportation will be provided from accommodation to and from Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel
- The company will arrange and pay for economy class tickets at the commencement and end of the contract, along with up to 50 kilos of baggage allowance.
- Unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network are available during the contract period.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after completion of 6 months of service.
Uniforms and Laundry
- Uniforms and a laundry service will be provided for the duration of the contract.
Roster & Annual Leave
- Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, as well as upon the start of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Paid vacation days will be combined with rostered OFF days each month, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
