Contract Specification:
The position is offered on a fixed-term contract with an initial duration of 15 months, subject to potential renewal based on mutual agreement. The contract structure typically involves approximately 3 months dedicated to initial training, followed by 12 months of active flying duties.
Key Responsibilities:
The A320 Type-rated Pilot will be responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict compliance with the detailed provisions of the Airline Operational Manual and all relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The primary focus is to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency are achieved on every flight operated.
This role involves providing essential support and guidance to both flight and cabin crew members, effectively managing emergency and ad-hoc scenarios that may arise, and exercising ultimate command over the aircraft to ensure successful flight performance and uphold the airline's positive corporate image.
Core duties include piloting the assigned aircraft from one destination to another according to specified schedules and approved flight plans, bearing the ultimate responsibility for the aircraft throughout the flight. The pilot must continuously implement, monitor, and maintain the necessary procedures to ensure safe and smooth aircraft operation.
The pilot is required to ensure timely attendance, maintain proper grooming standards, verify personal fitness, and confirm the legality of self and the entire flight crew for assigned duties. Conducting thorough pre-flight briefings is essential to ensure all crew members are fully informed of flight details. Continuous briefing prior to each action is required as per adopted procedures.
Effective liaison with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team is crucial before each flight. This involves ensuring flight and cabin crew members are well-prepared and provided with all necessary information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and role assignments.
Within the safety constraints detailed in the relevant sections of the Airline's Operations Manual, the pilot is responsible for flying the aircraft in a manner that makes the most efficient and effective use of fuel during the flight.
Finally, the pilot must ensure that required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are diligently carried out by the assigned flight and cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight. The pilot is also responsible for taking necessary action and directing the crew on appropriate responses in case of safety or security irregularities, and deciding on necessary escalations.
Decision Making Parameters:
The pilot's decision-making process requires consultation with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations before executing any non-routine or critical action. All duties must be performed through proper channels and in strict adherence to adopted policies and procedures.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages):
- Possession of an appropriate Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is mandatory.
- Successful completion of technical and psychometric assessments for Pilots, in accordance with the Airline's standards and the requirements of the respective civil aviation authority, is required.
- Candidates must pass a Medical Fitness check-up for Pilots, meeting the standards set by the Airline and the respective civil aviation authority.
- Training in safety and emergency response is essential; a formal qualification in this area is considered advantageous.
- Basic training in Airport procedures, security procedures, and regulations is an advantage.
- Crew Resources Management Training is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 4000 hours of total flying time is required.
- Candidates must have accumulated a minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the Airbus 320 aircraft type.
- Possesses acceptable industry knowledge regarding aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to and affecting Flight Operations is necessary.
- Must be capable of effectively implementing policies, procedures, and manuals as per approved standards and regulations.
- Demonstrates a cost-oriented mindset, possesses effective problem-solving abilities, and exhibits strong decision-making skills.
- Maintains high accuracy and pays close attention to both results and details.
Salary and Benefits:

Monthly Salary During Initial Training:
- During the training period (until the Final Line Check), a net salary of AED 20,199 (equivalent to approximately US$5,500) per month is provided, plus Per Diem. This amount will be pro-rated for partial months.
Monthly Salary after Training / Final Line Check: (For Up to 60 Block hours in a month)
- Following successful training and the Final Line Check, the net monthly salary is AED 27,544 (equivalent to approximately US$ 7,500) plus Per Diem, applicable for up to 60 block hours flown in a month.
Flying pay above 60 block hours in a month:
- For every block hour flown above 60 hours in a month, an additional rate of AED 404 (equivalent to approximately US$ 110) per block hour is paid.
Per Diem:
- A daily Per Diem of AED 184 (equivalent to approximately US$ 50) is provided, averaging around US$ 1,500 per month, to cover food and other miscellaneous expenses.
Accommodation:
Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis is provided at the base of operation and layover stations for the full duration of the contract. This includes personal laundry service for 4 pieces of clothing per day at the hotel.
Transportation:
- Suitable ground transportation is provided from the accommodation to and from Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel:
- The company arranges and pays for economy class tickets at the commencement and conclusion of the contract, including an allowance of up to 50 kilos of baggage.
- Pilots are entitled to unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network throughout the contract period.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after the successful completion of 6 months of service.
Uniforms / Laundry:
- Uniforms are provided, along with a laundry service for uniforms, for the duration of the contract.
Roster & Day off:
- Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, which accrues at a rate of 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, and upon commencing regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Paid vacation days will be combined with rostered OFF days each month, ensuring a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
