A320 Type-Rated Expat Pilot (Captain)
Overview
Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest airline and a member of the Air Arabia Group, presents an exceptional opportunity for highly skilled and experienced A320 Type-Rated Foreign/Expat Pilots. This distinguished fixed-term contract position invites eligible foreign nationals to contribute to the airline's dynamic and growing operations. The contract spans an initial 15-month period, renewable by mutual agreement, comprising approximately three months of comprehensive initial training followed by 12 months of active flying duties.
Key Responsibilities
The A320 Type-Rated Expat Pilot will assume critical responsibilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism:
- Safely and efficiently conduct assigned flights in strict adherence to the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations.
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency across all flights.
- Provide decisive leadership and guidance to flight and cabin crew, effectively managing emergencies and unforeseen scenarios, and maintaining full control of the flight to uphold operational excellence and the airline's positive corporate image.
- Consult with the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, or Head of Flight Operations prior to executing any non-routine or critical actions, ensuring all duties are performed through established channels and in compliance with adopted policies and procedures.
- Operate assigned aircraft between destinations in accordance with approved flight schedules and plans, assuming ultimate responsibility for the aircraft during these flights.
- Implement, monitor, and maintain procedures essential for the safe and smooth operation of the aircraft, as detailed in the Airline's Operations Manual.
- Ensure personal and flight crew readiness, including timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legal compliance for all assigned flights.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight briefings to inform crew members of flight details and ensure all briefings are performed as per adopted procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure comprehensive preparedness, covering aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and role assignments.
- Optimize fuel efficiency during flights, within the safety constraints outlined in the Airline's Operations Manual.
- Oversee the execution of required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by assigned Flight/Cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight.
- Take necessary actions and provide clear direction to the crew in response to safety or security irregularities, including determining escalation requirements.
Qualifications & Training
Candidates must meet the following essential and desirable qualifications:
- Possession of an appropriate Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is mandatory.
- Successful completion of technical and psychometric assessments for pilots, adhering to airline and civil aviation authority standards.
- Successful completion of the required medical fitness check-up for pilots, as per airline and civil aviation authority standards.
- Essential training in safety and emergency response; a formal qualification in this area is advantageous.
- Training in basic airport, security procedures, and regulations is an advantage.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM) training is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with IATA principles and standards relating to security is an advantage.
Required Experience & Skills
Prospective candidates should possess a robust background in aviation, demonstrating the following:
- A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flying experience.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on Airbus A320 aircraft.
- Demonstrated acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Proven exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
- Ability to effectively implement policies, procedures, and manuals in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
- A cost-oriented mindset, coupled with effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to achieving accurate results.
Compensation & Benefits Package
Fly Jinnah offers a comprehensive and competitive compensation and benefits package for this fixed-term contract:
Monthly Salary During Initial Training (until Final Line Check):
- AED 20,199 (equivalent to US$ 5,500) net per month (pro-rated for partial months), plus per diem.
Monthly Salary After Training / Final Line Check (for up to 60 Block Hours per month):
- AED 27,544 (equivalent to US$ 7,500) net per month, plus per diem.
Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours per Month:
- Every block hour exceeding 60 hours in a month will be compensated at AED 404 (equivalent to US$ 110).
Per Diem:
- AED 184 (equivalent to US$ 50) per day, contributing an average of US$ 1,500 per month towards food and miscellaneous expenses.
Accommodation:
- Provision of suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis at the base of operation and all layover stations for the full contract duration.
- Personal laundry service at the hotel (4 pieces of clothing per day).
Transportation:
- Provision of suitable ground transportation between accommodation and Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel:
- Economy class air tickets arranged and paid for by the company at the commencement and conclusion of the contract, including up to 50 kg baggage allowance.
- Unlimited standby tickets on the Air Arabia group network throughout the contract period.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits upon completion of 6 months of service.
Uniforms & Laundry:
- Provision of uniforms and laundry service for the duration of the contract.
Roster & Annual Leave:
- Entitlement to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation granted following successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, and upon commencement of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Monthly paid vacation days will be combined with rostered OFF days, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
