A320 Type Rated Pilot - Fixed-Term Contract (Foreign Nationals)
Fly Jinnah, Pakistan's newest airline and a valued group company, presents an exciting opportunity for skilled and experienced A320 Type-Rated Pilots. The airline is actively seeking dedicated aviation professionals to join its team on a fixed-term contract basis. This position is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals.
Contract Specification:
The role is offered on a 15-month fixed-period contract, with the potential for renewal subject to mutual agreement. The initial phase comprises approximately three months of training, followed by 12 months of active flying duties.
Role and Responsibilities:
The A320 Type Rated Pilot is responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict adherence to the Airline Operational Manual and all applicable civil aviation authority regulations. The primary objective is to ensure the utmost safety, security, and efficiency are achieved throughout all operated flights. The Pilot provides essential support and guidance to both flight and cabin crew, effectively manages emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios, and maintains overall command of the flight to guarantee successful operational performance and uphold the airline's positive corporate image. Collaboration with relevant operational departments, including the Chief Pilot, Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre, and Head of Flight Operations, is required for any non-routine or critical actions, ensuring all duties are performed through appropriate channels and in compliance with adopted policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating assigned aircraft according to published schedules and approved flight plans, accepting ultimate responsibility for the aircraft during these duties.
- Ensuring all assigned flights are conducted in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and relevant regulations.
- Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining necessary procedures to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the aircraft at all times.
- Ensuring timely attendance and maintaining proper grooming, fitness, and legal readiness for all assigned flight crew members.
- Conducting comprehensive pre-flight briefings and ensuring all required briefings are properly completed prior to each action as per adopted procedures.
- Liaising effectively with co-pilots (First Officer and Second Officer) and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure flight and cabin crew members are well-prepared and provided with all necessary information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and role assignments.
- Ensuring efficient and effective fuel usage during flights, always remaining within the safety constraints detailed in the relevant sections of the Airline’s Operations Manual.
- Overseeing and directing the assigned flight and cabin crew members to ensure that required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are meticulously carried out before, during, and after each flight.
- Taking necessary action and guiding the crew on how to respond in case of safety or security irregularities, including deciding on appropriate escalations when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of an appropriate ATPL License is mandatory.
- Successful applicants must pass technical and psychometric assessments for Pilots according to both airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
- Candidates must pass a Medical Fitness check-up for Pilots in accordance with airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
- Training in safety and emergency response is essential; a formal qualification is considered an advantage.
- Basic training in airport and security procedures and regulations is considered an advantage.
- Crew Resource Management Training is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of IATA principles and standards relating to security is considered an advantage.
- Candidates must have completed a minimum of 4000 hours of total flying time on aircraft.
- A minimum of 800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) on the Airbus 320 is required.
- Possession of acceptable industry knowledge concerning aircraft systems and operating procedures is essential.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance, Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations is beneficial.
- The ability to implement policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations is expected.
- The successful candidate should be cost-oriented and demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Compensation and Benefits:
Fly Jinnah offers a competitive compensation and benefits package for this fixed-term contract position:
Monthly Salary During Initial Training (Approx. 3 Months):
- AED 20,199 (Equivalent to US$5,500) net per month (prorated for partial months), plus Per Diem.
Monthly Salary After Training / Final Line Check (Up to 60 Block Hours):
- AED 27,544 (Equivalent to US$ 7,500) net per month, plus Per Diem.
Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours Per Month:
- An additional payment of AED 404 (Equivalent to US$ 110) will be provided for every block hour flown above 60 hours in a month.
Per Diem:
- AED 184 (Equivalent to US$ 50) per day (averaging approximately US$ 1,500 per month) is provided to cover food and other miscellaneous expenses.
Accommodation:
Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis is provided at the base of operation and at layover stations for the entire duration of the contract. This includes personal laundry service at the hotel for up to 4 pieces of clothing per day.
Transportation:
- Suitable ground transportation is provided from accommodation to and from Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel:
- The airline arranges and pays for economy class tickets for travel at the commencement and end of the contract, including a baggage allowance of up to 50 kilos.
- Unlimited standby tickets are available on the Air Arabia group network during the contract period.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after the completion of six months of service.
Uniforms & Laundry:
- Uniforms and laundry services for uniforms are provided for the duration of the contract.
Roster & Leave:
- Pilots are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release.
- Paid vacation days are combined with rostered OFF days each month, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
