Key Responsibilities

The First Officer supports the Captain in operating the aircraft safely and efficiently. Key duties include:

  • Conducting flights in full compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Captain's instructions. Notifying the Captain of any changes to the flight plan, Air Traffic Control clearances, or geographical position when the Captain is not at the controls.
  • Assisting the Captain with administrative tasks related to the flight as required.
  • Ensuring the safe navigation of the aircraft by maintaining a continuous and independent check on the aircraft's geographical position and ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
  • Upholding high personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the airline at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the First Officer role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (1) aircraft or high-performance military jets.
  • A minimum of 500 hours on the A320 Family aircraft.
  • Must have flown any Airbus Fly-by-Wire aircraft within the last 12 months.
  • Possess a valid A320 type rating, which must remain valid for a minimum of two months at the time of joining.
  • Hold a current and unrestricted ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
  • Must be currently type-rated and current on the A320 aircraft.
  • Possess an unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Maximum age limit at the time of application is 50 years old.
  • Demonstrate English Language Fluency (written and verbal) at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
  • For hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.

(1) Glass Cockpit: Refers to aircraft equipped with a Flight Management System (FMS) coupled to an Automatic Flight Path Directors System (APFDS).

Package and Benefits

The airline offers a competitive annual package, comprising a basic salary, flying pay, a housing allowance to assist in securing preferred accommodation, and layover and meal allowances. The opportunity exists to earn up to 513,732 AED (approximately USD 138,318) tax-free per annum, based on flying 75 hours per month. Annual salary increments are based on performance, and the package includes additional comprehensive benefits:
