The Role

The First Officer plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of flights, assisting the Captain and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and flight plans. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting the flight in accordance with the current flight plan, SOPs, and the Captain's instructions when the Captain is not at the controls. Notifying the Captain of any changes to the flight plan, ATC instructions, or geographical position upon their return.
• Assisting the Captain with administrative duties related to the flight as requested.
• Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check on the aircraft's geographical position and ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
• Maintaining high personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways at all times.

Compensation and Benefits

Etihad Airways offers a competitive annual package, including a basic salary, flying pay, housing allowance, and layover and meal allowances. The potential exists to earn up to 513,732 AED (USD 138,318) tax-free per annum based on 75 hours of flying per month. Annual salary increments are provided based on performance. Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria for consideration:

• A minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
• A minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS), or high-performance military jet aircraft.
• 500 hours specifically on one of the A320 Family aircraft.
• Experience flying any Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft within the last 12 months.
• A valid Type Rating on the A320, valid for a minimum of two months at the anticipated time of joining.
• Holding a current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL license. Frozen ATPL is not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
• Current proficiency on the A320 aircraft.
• An unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
• Maximum age limit is 50 years old at the time of application.
• English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or better.
• For hours accumulated on flights with in-flight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
