A320 First Officer - Fixed-Term Contract

Important Contract Information
- Eligibility: This position is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals.
- Contract Duration: A 15-month fixed-period contract, with the potential for renewal upon mutual agreement. The contract typically comprises an approximate 3-month initial training phase (often in the UAE), followed by 12 months of active flying duties in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities of an A320 First Officer
The A320 First Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and smooth conduct of all flight operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating as either the ‘Pilot Flying’ or the ‘Pilot Monitoring’, actively assisting the Captain in managing flight deck tasks, overseeing flight progress, monitoring the efficiency of aircraft operating systems, and evaluating the performance of other cockpit crew members.
- Conducting all flights in strict adherence to the detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and all relevant national and international aviation regulations. The First Officer is responsible for consistently applying and monitoring procedures essential for the safe and seamless operation of the assigned aircraft.
- Coordinating comprehensively with the Captain and the Dispatch Team prior to each flight to ensure all flight and cabin crew members are thoroughly prepared and provided with necessary information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, prevailing weather conditions, fuel requirements, weight distribution, and role assignments.
- Performing all required checks, maintaining accurate records, and completing documentation tasks for conducted flights, such as recording take-off data, verifying fuel requirements, and managing the Air Traffic Services (ATS) flight plan.
- Utilizing approved systems and forms to precisely record data, including the log book and Company Flight Plan (CFP); meticulously verifying calculated data against assumed figures and obtaining the Captain’s signature as required.
- At stations lacking qualified ground personnel, the First Officer is responsible for verifying the fuel type and supervising the aircraft's fuelling process, ensuring proper fuel distribution.
- Promptly alerting the Captain to any irregularities or unfavorable variables that could potentially affect safety; implementing necessary actions as instructed by the Captain and assisting the crew on appropriate responses in case of safety or security irregularities.
- Undertaking additional ground-based tasks, such as serving as a Safety Officer or Security Officer, as directed by the Head of Flight Operations and in full compliance with the provisions of Part A of the Airline’s Operations Manual.
Required Work Experience and Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess a robust aviation background and meet the following essential criteria:
- A minimum of 500 hours of total flying experience, with a strong preference for candidates demonstrating experience on the Airbus A320 type.
- Prior experience within a low-cost airline environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated acceptable industry knowledge regarding aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Possession of the necessary knowledge and exposure to effectively handle any additional roles delegated, such as security or safety-related responsibilities, in accordance with airline and respective civil aviation authority standards.
- Experience with Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
Compensation and Benefits Package
Fly Jinnah offers a comprehensive and competitive remuneration package designed to attract and retain top aviation talent:
Monthly Salary Structure:
- During Initial Training (Until Final Line Check): An AED 12,853 (equivalent to approximately US$ 3,500) Net Salary per month, pro-rated for partial months, plus Per Diem.
- After Training / Final Line Check (for up to 60 Block Hours per month): An AED 20,199 (equivalent to approximately US$ 5,500) Net Salary per month, plus Per Diem.
Flying Pay:
- Above 60 Block Hours per month: Every block hour exceeding 60 in a given month will be compensated at AED 275 (equivalent to approximately US$ 75) per hour.
Per Diem:
- An allowance of AED 184 (equivalent to approximately US$ 50) per day will be provided to cover food and other miscellaneous expenses, averaging approximately US$ 1,500 per month.
Accommodation:
- Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at the base of operation and at all layover stations for the entire duration of the contract. This benefit includes personal laundry service at the hotel for up to 4 pieces of clothing per day.
Transportation:
- Appropriate ground transportation will be arranged from the provided accommodation to and from airports/office for all rostered flight duties.
Travel Benefits:
- The company will arrange and cover the cost of economy class air tickets at the commencement and conclusion of the contract, including up to 50 kilograms of baggage allowance.
- Unlimited standby tickets are available on the Air Arabia group network throughout the contract period.
- After the successful completion of 6 months of service, First Officers become eligible for MYID travel benefits.
Uniforms & Laundry:
- Comprehensive uniforms and laundry services will be provided for the full duration of the contract.
Roster & Leave Entitlements:
- First Officers are entitled to 30 calendar days of Annual Leave Vacation (ALV) per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following the successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, coinciding with the commencement of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Paid vacation days will be strategically combined with rostered OFF days each month, guaranteeing a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (comprising Paid Vacation + OFF days) per month.
