Fly Jinnah, Pakistan’s newest and most dynamic airline, is offering an attractive opportunity for skilled, type-rated A320 First Officers to join its flight operations team on a fixed-term contract basis. The airline seeks highly qualified aviation professionals committed to safety and operational excellence.
Important Note: This contract is exclusively open to eligible foreign nationals.
Contract Specifications
- Duration: A 15-month fixed-period contract, renewable upon mutual agreement.
- Structure: The contract typically comprises approximately three months of initial training, followed by 12 months of active flying duties.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The First Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and smooth operation of the aircraft. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing duties as either the ‘Pilot Flying’ (PF) or the ‘Pilot Monitoring’ (PM), actively assisting the Captain in flight deck management, monitoring flight progress, operational system efficiency, and the performance of other cockpit crew members.
- Conducting all assigned flights strictly in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulatory requirements.
- Applying and continuously monitoring all procedures necessary to guarantee the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
- Collaborating closely with the Captain and the Dispatch Team pre-flight to ensure that all cabin and flight crew members are thoroughly prepared and supplied with necessary information, including aircraft technical status, preferred routes, prevailing weather, fuel requirements, weight specifications, and duty distribution.
- Performing required checks, completing necessary documentation, and recording tasks for conducted flights, such as calculating take-off data, determining fuel requirements, and submitting the ATS flight plan.
- Utilizing adopted systems and forms to accurately record flight data (e.g., log book, CFP), verifying calculated data against planned parameters, and obtaining the Captain’s signature.
- At stations lacking qualified ground personnel, checking the fuel type and supervising the aircraft fueling process to ensure optimal distribution.
- Alerting the Captain immediately regarding any irregularities or unfavorable variables that may compromise safety; implementing necessary actions as instructed by the Captain and assisting the crew on appropriate responses to safety or security irregularities.
- Undertaking additional, ground-based roles, such as Safety Officer or Security Officer, when directed by the Head of Flight Operations, in full compliance with the provisions detailed in Part A of the Airline’s Operations Manual.
Required Work Experience and Competencies
Prospective candidates must demonstrate proven experience and high levels of competency in airline operations:
- A minimum of 500 hours of total flying time is mandatory; previous experience on the Airbus A320 is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working for a low-cost carrier (LCC) is highly desirable.
- Possession of acceptable, current industry knowledge regarding aircraft systems and standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and exposure to handle additional delegated roles, such as security or safety-related functions, in line with airline and respective Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standards.
- Exposure to Quality Assurance (QA), Safety, Security, and Audit procedures and practices that impact Flight Operations is essential.
Compensation and Benefits Package
The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive remuneration package, structured as follows:
Monthly Salary During Initial Training (Approx. 3 Months)
- During the training period, until the successful completion of the Final Line Check: Net Salary of AED 12,853 (US$ 3,500) per month (prorated for partial months), plus Per Diem allowance.
Monthly Salary After Training / Final Line Check
- For up to 60 Block Hours per month: Net Salary of AED 20,199 (US$ 5,500) per month, plus Per Diem allowance.
Flying Pay Above 60 Block Hours
- Each block hour flown above the 60-hour threshold within a month will be compensated at AED 275 (US$ 75) per block hour.
Per Diem Allowance
- A daily Per Diem of AED 184 (US$ 50) is provided towards meals and miscellaneous expenses, averaging approximately US$ 1,500 per month.
Accommodation and Travel Benefits
- Accommodation: Suitable hotel accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis will be provided at the base of operation and at all layover stations for the entire contract duration. This includes personal laundry service (4 pieces per day at the hotel).
- Transportation: Suitable ground transportation will be arranged from the accommodation to and from the Airports/Office for all rostered flight duties.
- Travel: The company covers economy class tickets and provides up to 50 kilograms of baggage allowance at the start and conclusion of the contract.
- Staff Travel: Unlimited standby tickets are available across the Air Arabia group network during the contract period. Eligibility for MYID travel benefits commences after six months of service.
- Uniforms/Laundry: Uniforms and associated laundry services are provided for the duration of the contract.
Roster and Leave Entitlements
- Annual Leave Vacation (ALV): Entitlement of 30 calendar days of ALV per completed year of service, accruing at 2.5 days per month.
- Paid vacation is granted following successful completion of initial training and Line Flying release in the UAE, coinciding with the start of regular rostered flying duties in Pakistan.
- Monthly rostered OFF days will be combined with paid vacation days to ensure a minimum of seven consecutive free-of-duty days (Paid Vacation + OFF days) each month.
