What Etihad Airways Offers:

The Role:
The A320 Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of the flight in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board.
- Assuming responsibility for the operation and safety of the aircraft from the initiation of taxiing prior to take-off until the final resting point after landing and the shutdown of primary propulsion units.
- Taking all reasonable measures to ensure that all persons carried in the aircraft obey all lawful commands necessary for securing the safety of the aircraft and its occupants or cargo.
- Operating efficiently in accordance with company fuel policy.
- Ensuring On Time Performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for the position of A320 Captain, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 5500 hours total flying time.
- A minimum of 2500 Pilot in Command (PIC) hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit jet aircraft (Glass Cockpit defined as aircraft with a Flight Management System coupled to an Automatic Flight Director System).
- A minimum of 1500 PIC hours on one of the A320 Family aircraft.
- Recent experience having flown any Airbus Fly-by-Wire aircraft within the last 12 months.
- Hold a valid A320 Type Rating which is current for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
- Hold an unrestricted and current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- Be current on the A320 aircraft.
- Hold an unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Be maximum 59 years of age on the date of joining.
- Possession of a current Type Rating Examiner (TRE) or Type Rating Instructor (TRI) qualification is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate English Language Fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or higher.
- In the case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimums.
