As a Captain, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Airbus A320 Family aircraft, leading a crew of professionals dedicated to delivering a world-class air travel experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board the aircraft during all phases of flight operations.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of aircraft operations, from pre-flight preparations to landing and engine shutdown.
- Ensure strict adherence to all applicable regulations, documentation, and briefing materials, including route, destination, alternate airfields, oxygen escape routes, and terrain escape routes.
- Exercise authority to issue any commands deemed necessary to ensure the safety of the aircraft, its occupants, and any property carried onboard.
- Possess the authority to disembark any person or cargo deemed a potential hazard to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants.
- Ensure that all crew members comply with all operational checklists before, during, and after flight operations, particularly in abnormal and emergency situations.
- Implement and apply manufacturer-provided procedures and checklists approved for use by Etihad Airways.
- In emergency situations demanding immediate action, take any necessary measures to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its occupants, even if it requires deviating from established rules, operational procedures, and methods.
- Operate the aircraft within the scope of all applicable operational manuals.
- Take all reasonable measures to ensure that all passengers obey lawful commands given for the safety of the aircraft and its occupants.
- Achieve operational efficiency by adhering to the company's fuel policy.
- Contribute to on-time performance through effective flight planning and execution.
- Promote a positive customer experience by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5,500 hours of total flying time.
- Minimum 2,500 hours of PIC time on multi-crew, glass cockpit (1) jet aircraft.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of PIC time on an A320 Family aircraft within the last 3 years, with current experience on an Airbus FBW type.
- Valid A320 type rating for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
- Unrestricted and current ICAO ATPL.
- Current on A320 aircraft.
- Unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Age not exceeding 59 years old upon the date of joining.
- Current TRE/TRI qualification is an advantage.
- English language fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or higher.
- For hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.
- Glass cockpit: Aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting salary of AED 35,200 per month for Captains.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 50 per block hour.
- 7-10 years of service: AED 80 per block hour.
- Meal allowance during layovers:
- Middle East/ GCC/ Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour.
- Asia/ Far East: AED 15 per hour.
- Africa/ Australasia: AED 18 per hour.
- Europe/ Americas: AED 23 per hour.
- Housing allowance up to AED 170,000 per year, or company-provided housing depending on availability.
