Job Description

The Captain is responsible for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board the aircraft. This includes operational responsibility and safety of the aircraft from initial movement for taxiing before takeoff until the aircraft comes to a complete stop and the engines are shut down at the end of the flight. The Captain will familiarize themselves with all applicable regulations, documentation, and briefing materials for the intended route, destination, and alternate airfields, including oxygen and terrain escape routes. They have the authority to issue commands necessary for the safety of the aircraft and its occupants, and to disembark any person or cargo deemed a potential hazard.

The Captain ensures all crew comply with operational checklists during all phases of flight, including abnormal and emergency situations, and that manufacturer-provided procedures and checklists approved for use are properly implemented and applied. In emergency situations requiring immediate decision and action, the Captain will take necessary actions, deviating from standard procedures if necessary in the interest of safety. They are responsible for operating the aircraft within the scope of all Operational Manuals, ensuring all persons on board obey lawful commands to maintain the safety of the aircraft and its occupants. They are expected to operate efficiently in accordance with company fuel policy, ensuring on-time performance, and maintaining customer awareness.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5500 hours total flying time, including a minimum of 2500 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit jet aircraft (defined as aircraft with an FMS coupled to APFDS). A minimum of 1500 PIC hours on the A320 Family within the last 3 years and current flight experience on an Airbus FBW type is required. The A320 type rating should be valid for at least 2 months upon joining. Candidates must hold an unrestricted and current ICAO ATPL, maintain current A320 qualifications, and possess an unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate. Candidates must not have attained the age of 59 years at the time of joining. A current TRE/TRI rating is advantageous. English language proficiency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or higher is essential. When considering flight hours accumulated with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours will be counted towards the required minimums.

Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for Captains is AED 35,200 per month. Flight duty allowances are provided at AED 50 per block hour for 1-6 years of service, and AED 80 per block hour for 7-10 years of service. Meal allowances during layovers are provided as follows: AED 12 per hour for the Middle East/GCC/Sub Continent, AED 15 per hour for Asia/Far East, AED 18 per hour for Africa/Australasia, and AED 23 per hour for Europe/Americas. Housing allowance of up to AED 170,000 per year is offered, or company-provided housing depending on availability. An education allowance is available, up to AED 40,000 for primary education and AED 55,000 for secondary education for up to three children. Additional benefits include an income protection scheme, 42 days annual leave, staff travel benefits, end of service benefits, and accidental and life insurance benefits.
