Etihad Airways seeks highly skilled and experienced aviation professionals to join our team as Captains on our Airbus A320 family fleet. As a Captain, you will be entrusted with the highest level of responsibility, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft while delivering an exceptional experience for our passengers.
Responsibilities:
- Safety and Security: The Captain holds ultimate responsibility for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard the aircraft.
- Aircraft Operation: The Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft from the commencement of taxiing prior to takeoff to the final shutdown of the primary propulsion units at the end of the flight.
- Pre-Flight Preparation: The Captain will thoroughly familiarize themselves with all relevant regulations, documentation, and briefing materials for the planned route, destination, and alternate airfields. This includes familiarization with oxygen and terrain escape routes.
- Authority and Decision Making: The Captain has the authority to issue all commands necessary to ensure the safety of the aircraft, its occupants, and its cargo. This includes the authority to disembark any person or cargo deemed a potential hazard.
- Crew Management: The Captain is responsible for ensuring all crew members adhere to operational checklists during all phases of flight, including abnormal and emergency situations. This includes ensuring the proper implementation of manufacturer procedures and checklists approved by Etihad Airways.
- Emergency Procedures: In emergency situations requiring immediate action, the Captain (or pilot assigned conduct of the flight) will take all necessary actions, potentially deviating from established rules and procedures in the interest of safety.
- Operational Compliance: The Captain will operate the aircraft within the parameters defined in all relevant Operational Manuals.
- Passenger Compliance: The Captain will take all reasonable measures to ensure passengers comply with lawful commands issued for the safety of the aircraft and those onboard.
- Operational Efficiency: The Captain will operate the aircraft efficiently, adhering to company fuel policy and striving for on-time performance.
- Customer Awareness: The Captain will maintain a high level of customer awareness, contributing to a positive passenger experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5,500 hours total flying time
- Minimum 2,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) experience on multi-crew, glass cockpit (FMS coupled to APFDS) jet aircraft
- Minimum 1,500 hours PIC experience on an Airbus A320 Family aircraft within the last 3 years and currently flying an Airbus Fly-By-Wire (FBW) type
- Valid A320 type rating with a minimum of 2 months validity remaining at the time of joining
- Unrestricted and current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL)
- Current on A320 requirements
- Unrestricted and current Class 1 medical certificate
- Must be under 59 years of age upon joining
- Current Type Rating Examiner/Instructor (TRE/TRI) qualification is advantageous
- English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or better
- Note: For hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% will be counted towards the minimum requirements.
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive starting salary of AED 35,200 per month for Captains
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 50 per block hour
- 7-10 years of service: AED 80 per block hour
- Meal allowance during layovers:
- Middle East/GCC/Subcontinent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance up to AED 170,000 per year or company-provided housing (subject to availability)
- Education allowance of AED 36,000 for primary and AED 50,400 for secondary education (up to 3 children)
